As good a footballer as he is Stones struggles with basic defending at times for me,especially in the air. Big Harry would sort that out but it’s whether or not Harry has enough pace or ‘Panache’ maybe for Pep.

Stones and Maguire would be a brilliant pairing.

Yes - they'll only get better playing together every week though, a football playing centre-back alongside a good stopper like Maguire is the perfect match up, gotta be good for future England teams?

Didn't watch it but I read Stones was all over the place - for myself, I think they should have been on holiday; World Cup 2018, a long, hard season for both after that. They'll only get better and make less mistakes the more they play together ....... probably.

I think Harry is a great defender. It’s no coincidence that he’s now an England regular selected by someone who probably has a better eye for a player than all of us put together.

He’s an English centre half comfortable on the ball. There’s not many of those around. He reminds me of Hummels a lot which is why I’m surprised Liverpool haven’t looked at him to play alongside Van Dijk. Klopp used to rave about Hummels at Dortmund and how important it was to have a centre half that was comfortable on the ball to start that build from the back football.

Stones as a footballer seems to have gone backwards. It may be a confidence thing but he was very poor against Holland.

Mistakes rarely get easily forgotten at the top level. Would of made a quality sweeper back in th days when you needed one.

I believed you up to your frankly ludicrous suggestion that he has an entire ‘handful’ of friends ;)

Any talk of the Allams going is very premature. At the absolute least there’s a Bowen sell on fee to wait for.

Stones and Maguire were both poor against Holland, England look much better when Stones and Maguire are playing in a back three.
