The club interview says he spoke to Timm, who convinced him to join. Also liked this section of the interview, which appeared unprompted: “I’m going to do everything and give 100% on the pitch. I will be ready to give everything for the Club. My job is scoring but I also want to help my team and help us be successful.” “When I first came to Norwich, the first thing I noticed was how kind everybody was. It’s given me a lot of positive energy and I’m excited to see what happens.” Transfermarkt reckon it was £450k, which is not the same as their valuation for him (£900k). They usually don't seem far out on fees? Hannover have made over £15m in sales so far this summer. Equally wouldn't be surprised if it's a free transfer.
Any money back for him would be amazing, for how sh*te he was. I was even hoping for £100,000 just to cover some wages. £450,000 would be amazing business. Equally, If he left on a free, at least he is off the books, and out of the club.
With it being a free signing, couple of thoughts: A striker is usually the most expensive signing, our £20m budget will now go a lot further on any other positions we want to target. We've possibly got our two most expensive positions covered for very little. Even if we're paying Drmic £50k p/w for 3 years, his whole contract has cost us £7.5m - that's basically what Wednesday's opening price on Rhodes is/was. This puts pressure on Steve Bruce and Wednesday nice and early in the window. We want Rhodes, but we don't need him. Pukki, Drmic, Srbeny is likely enough for a 1 striker system, and we could recall Morris or blood Idah if we get truly desperate.
Tbh with Drmic coming in I don’t think we need Rhodes. Im not sure he can cut it in the prem and the main reason I wanted him was because we already knew he was a good fit and influence in the dressing room. Shelling out that kind of money just for the personality wouldn’t be good business
Excellent! Timm would have told him about the hard word required in training, so should be no surprise for Drmrc in the that regard. And Klose could vouch for his attitude. I like this.
I really think we'll let Wednesday squirm until deadline day if necessary. If nobody else is interested and they want rid of his wages, they'll crack and let him go for peanuts.
Thanks TC - Pretty decent back-up to Teemu -another free transfer. Has SW done it again??? Look out Premier League!!! #YouHaveBeenWarned
Well exactly, even allowing for a wage beyond the top end of realistic, he still looks like a bargain.
I've been hoping for this signing. It makes good sense all around - a Bundesliga striker on a free transfer is very good business indeed. Good temperament and a mate for Klose to further the togetherness factor. SW strikes again!
