I've just seen that. Perhaps the BBC want to sell it on DVD, so aren't giving it away on iPlayer. Shame
And presumably nothing to give the conspiracy theorists a cheap thrill? I shall try to check this out. Sounds like it backs up the idea that, no matter how good or plentiful your data is, if you don’t have the systems and talent in place to analyse and communicate it, it’s worthless.
Nothing for the conspiracy theories. So many people would have needed to be in on it if it was fake. Thing is, the systems were in place, but a combination of egos and mistrust between agencies meant an horrendous cock up, leading to thousands dead! According to the show, the FBI were trying everything they could to get info out of the CIA, but they were frozen out till it was too late. Well worth a watch imo.
Haha ... no problem 9’s ... not an avid reader myself, but always up to give a high recommendation a go. It’s on order
Just watched 13 assassins Great movie loosely based on real events Another one for your list of you don't mind subtitles stainesy
Just watched the World Cup very good But what has happened to football commentary in general ? This was dreadful Lady Robot and Man Robot talking factual nothings and both programmed by Barry Davis it seems... The BBC really is utter ****e Some of the football I have seen is outstanding in this tournament... it’s a better watch than the men’s game by far
I’ll have a look mate.....definitely don't mind subtitles as almost all the best films I’ve seen have been foreign language films......’City of Life and Death’ (Chinese), ‘Come and See’ (Belorussian), ‘Hatred’ (Polish).....all fantastic films
Just seen ‘Gomorrah’ season 4 is available to watch in advance in a sky box set.....I almost cried tears of joy and gonna start tonight. For those who haven’t seen it from the start...all episodes from series 1-4 are available...you won’t regret it
Napoli is a brilliant, but utterly tragic place. If I had Sky I would watch this, but I have read the original book, which is terrifying and sad in equal measure. The fresh feel of the first series of Killing Eve has now turned stale, just more of the same and quite boring now, given up on it.
Do what you can to watch it G. You really won’t be disappointed. I read the book as well......brilliant
I’ve been reading a bit of Italian history, and was talking about it to a great friend and colleague of mine who I joyfully bumped into in the States a couple of weeks ago. He’s from Tuscany but was saying that the south of Italy and Sicily were totally screwed by Italian unification in the second half of the nineteenth century. Essentially the Piedmontese took over the whole country, and they were basically French (Victor Emmanuel, the first King, didn’t even have Italian as his first language) imposing their own laws and ways of governing on everyone, often brutally, and a lot of Italy’s problems stem from that.
finished the second series of eve a few weeks ago but unlike all you ****ers who review stuff i wont give any spoilers when is series 3 due
Trip to Wembley to see the amazing (if getting on) Eagles. An almost two and a half hour set of wall-to-wall hits was a sound to behold. Harmonies were incredible, the bind tight as a drum and Deacon Frey (Glens son) was a worthy, and proud, replacement for his father. My only disappointment was the acoustics of the new Stadium. A massive echo could be heard. Something I never remember of the old stadium. Anyone else experience this? So another item on the bucket list ticked off and well worth it. Totally enjoyable, and the only time I thought of their age was to be astounded at the enormous number of hits and total professionalism of the band throughout.
Another brilliant programme presented by David Olusoga called ‘The Unwanted: The Secret Windrush Files’ A very sad story of a betrayal of people who answered the call to help this country when they were needed for labour and the deep rooted racism that was prevalent upon their arrival. Olusoga is fast becoming my favourite presenter.....
