Reading this I don't know why I thought of this number, the 'Summer of 69' was a cracker. Yes I know it was sung by Bryan Adams.
One day a book will be written on why Katie Price ruined her looks in the way she has ( a book you will never need to write )
Been out walking round about Shoreham and Otford. A lot of fields have been left to become meadows, making Kent even more beautiful than usual, as Dick knows well. It's a fantastic county. When the kids were little there were always places to take them for the day, and now we can see parts that are great for a more sedate walking. I love Kent, so does Billy Joel, he told us at his concert.
I have done walks in Shoreham and Otford. Am going to do an eight miler on 14th July in Cobham. Our drama societies annual ramble, which starts and finishes in the Leather Bottle.
Just gone past the Battersea Power Station development. The glass fronted balconies showing peoples bikes to dirty laundry, what a sight coming from properties 1 million notes upwards
Agreed. Players should not get two chances to serve every point at that level. Sure, for youngsters and folks playing just for fun and to keep fit. But top level professionals? They do not need two chances to get the ball into that big square. Where is the entertainment value of watching 20 aces, or seeing vain efforts to return fly off in any direction time after time? If you want to smash your serve then fine, that's up to you. But if it's out or it clips the net you should lose the point. It would speed up the game as well.
And on other non-footballing matters Has there been one match at this Women's World Cup Finals where the underdog has won? England beat every team they played (some at a canter) because the opposition was clearly inferior. Then they come up against the USA, who are measurably better than them, and they lose. One of the best things about football is that unpredictable results happen much more often than they tend to in many other sports. In the mens' game anyway.
Saw the magnificent Barbra Streisand at Hyde Park yesterday. Twas a wonderful show. Lionel Richie joined Babs on stage for a lovely duet. I even rubbed shoulders with Antonio Banderas. Another highlight of the day was Richard Marx, who wowed the crowd with his 90s hits Hazard, Right Here Waiting, and Now and Forever.
