A gang of men have just been sent to jail for their "sport" of taking their dogs into the country to kill badgers, deer and other wildlife. A police spokesman said there are hundreds of other men doing the same thing. In court they said they believed their behaviour was normal. What is happening to the human race?

Just got back from another trip to Wembley stadium, this time to see Billy Joel. Still belting it out, and hasn't half written some brilliant songs. The surprise of the evening was the bass guitarist singing Nessun Dorma.

Some of his earlier ballads are lovely songs. Sentimental maybe, but a cut above much of the slush of those days.
