He looked relaxed and sharp.. And doubles will not take such a toll on his body.. But.. I hear he is planning to enter a singles tournament soon too..
Watching him you can see that he still gets fired up when he makes a winning shot. He says he will not come back unless he feels that he can reach the top again, but players in all sorts of sports seem to believe that they can do better. Probably needed if you wish to succeed.
I would rather he stayed in doubles and bcame no 1..... I fear he will be chasing the game back in singles... and he does punish his body...
I don't really follow tennis, so when jerzeypie said to me yesterday that Murray is in the semi-final after finishing his quarter-final I thought he was referring to Jamie.
Watched the tennis final from Queens, and realised how much I was enjoying not seeing both players bouncing the ball multiple times before they serve. One bounce and the game was underway. Watched Nadal recently and was counting the times he bounced the ball. 12 sometimes 13 or 14. That needs a restriction putting on it.
Well Andy Murray won, but what a partner he had. After all his tennis yesterday and today the poor guy couldn't sit down between games in case he siezed up. Although he says he he now free of pain, and showed no signs of holding back, he cannot be the same player after major surgery and time out.
Well American doubles player Bob Bryan had the same operation and said he came back ok so maybe that is the route Murray might take... I mean would he really just want to be a singles player being around 3040 in the World maybe getting to the 4th round when he has proven GS history? I guess he will try though as Murray isn't one to give up....guess he could pick and choose tournaments and might have a protected ranking to start with. Credit to Lopez as well for playing both - some would have pulled out of the doubles!
England need a miracle to beat the Aussies now I feel but never know .. Just needs one big partnership.
