When you take into account that the yanks are the only nation ever to use them (twice) it's a bit of a cheek that they decide to police who can and can't have them.

The size for starters, it's two and half times the size of Iraq. It's ingrained militant ideology from its political class to its military is in complete sync unlike Iraq. The Iran/Iraq war was a good example of this. While Iranian soldiers were willingly sacrificing themselves for the cause, Iraqi soldiers who never had any allegiance to Saddam were waving the white flag. It's a completely different ideology, they're fanatics for the cause. Its total military personnel is estimated at close to a million with half that in active service. It's ranked as one of the highest in the world for land combat vehicles including armoured vehicles, tanks, artillery and rocket deployment. And none of this includes what the militants in Iraq who will join in without question. Not trying to say Iran will win, but I'm only limiting things to explain why America will have to put boots on the ground en mass if they seriously want to win.
Yep, spot on. Israel, Pakistan, India and North Korea did it the right way. The main objection to Iran having nukes is very little to do with them being a threat to the world, more to do with the acquired geo-political power they'll command in the region. The Americans, Saudi's and Israeli's all don't want that.

It's a big sparse land.. Non of that will matter if the USA decide to unfold it's power. I think a lot of you are underestimating the Yanks and over estimating the opposition.
Look mate, I've spent a good part of my life in America, the American's are the most arrogant, most obnoxious, self obsessed people on the planet, I wouldn't trust them with a smartie fooking jar, let alone Nuclear weapons.
The only thing I disagree with is that in order to unleash its power they will need to have a heavy presence on the ground. And once they do that, it will be carnage on all sides - both within Iran and across the northern territories of Afghanistan to Iraq, Syria and the Lebanon. America will "win" (if you can call it that) in the end but it won't be through air power, drones and CIA led special forces. There'll be no "rebel forces" in Iran to help them either.
