The Ivy Grower has Younevercall in the lucky last at Royal Ascot. A few decent sorts to beat including the one in the Mr Blobby colours and last years winner. However if he can transfer his NH form to the flat it's the Ivy Grower for me.
Expect our erstwhile knight to appear any minute! His Ascot wheelbarrow job Hey Jonesy runs tomorrow in the Wokingham. I'm on!

Morning 3.05 Royal Ascot-Marie's Diamond Each Way @ 20-1 [Boylesports]..4 places A lively outsider for Frankie
With the ground drying out, perhaps some respite for punters on the last day of the Royal meeting. If the layers are to be believed, the Chesham is a two horse race between the unbeaten Lope Y Fernandez and Pinatubo. As I won’t touch the two year olds this early in the season, I can bypass this upset possibility. There used to be a time when the Jersey was where the Guineas also-ran did-not-stays met the lightly-raced improvers. It does not look like that this year. I cannot say that I would be in any hurry to lump on Space Blues who pulled last time and the runner-up Urban Icon, the third Marie’s Diamond (with Frankie aboard) and the fourth Angel’s Hideaway all re-oppose. From jockey bookings, So Perfect is the preferred of the Ballydoyle three, having run in some top races as a juvenile and arguably the form pick on her second in the Phoenix Stakes. Being able to beat the older horses this early in the season suggests that Happy Power could be better than his bare form; however, that was on soft ground and the number one draw is no assistance. With the first time blinkers applied, Momkin might find a new lease of life but he was a no-show in the Guineas with Urban Icon in front (but Advertise behind). The Hardwicke looks the race of the day. Defoe won the Coronation Cup ahead of Communique last time, having finished behind that one at Newmarket. It is very easy to crab the Epsom form (beaten favourite Lah Ti Dar did not handle track) and third Salouen re-opposes but has only won a four runner race in last three years. Given the number of older horses at Ballydoyle, the choice of Southern France for this race looks curious after chasing home the Gold Cup winner at York over further. Supporters of Mirage Dancer must be firmly in the Stoute is a master of older horses camp. This one just looks short of the required level in a race that features the return to the racecourse of last year’s Derby winner MASAR, who has not raced since because of injury. He gets in without a penalty, is sure to be as fit as his trainer can get him, is very adaptable to race tactics and is the best horse in the race. With the paucity of quality on display so far this season, I hope MASAR puts on a performance so we have something to look forward to in the big races. Had to take a double check when I saw Blue Point in the Diamond Jubilee – it is the same horse that won on Tuesday! He is not the only one with Enzo’s Lad also out again. Even stranger the disappointing Le Brivido is dropping a couple of furlongs to run again. It is hard to fancy the French raider City Light as he came here on a winning run last year and it ended. Four of last year’s first five are back, with third Bound For Nowhere trying for a third-time-lucky at Ascot and the inconsistent Projection stone last at York on debut. The Tin Man failed in his attempt to win the same Windsor race for a third time (Dream Of Dreams won it) as a warm up for this but his connections know that he loves Ascot and will run his race. INVINCIBLE ARMY has won both starts this year, last time decisively the Duke Of York with Yafta third and Projection last, is at his optimum trip and has got better with each start. He looks like he has been targeted at this while Blue Point is just chancing it. Last year I had info for Pallasator in the lucky last and got on early before it was gambled on course; however, no word this year (yet) and he has to give everyone weight, aged 10.
This weeks final days fancies for what's been a good festival if not the greatest... 2:30 - Lope y Fernandez win, Rose of Kildare e/w 3:05 - Space Blues win & Momkin e/w. 3:40 - Southern France win 4:20 - Blue Point win 5:00 - Hey Jonesy, Spring Loaded & Vanburgh e/w 5:35 - Cleonte & Corelli Not had a bet yet but these are the ones I would go with...
Tough day at Ascot today I think. The opener looks between the top 2 in the market. I’m going for the O Brien horse based on what his stablemate did the other day. Yesterday I tipped up the 100/1 3rd in the opener and I’m going to try and repeat that today with Clay Regazzoni ridden by the impressive Daniel Tudhope. Currently 80/1 I’m a bit disappointed that Lah ti Dar is out of the Hardwicke so going for Defoe. Very close to choose between him and Masar but the lack of a run has to be a concern for Masar. Blue Point is a bit of a gamble in the Jubilee but he has proved himself over 6f in Meydan and I think he has the class to follow up his win earlier in the week. Would love to see Black Corton win the last but I’m going for Cleonte who looks to have targeted this race.
hello mates! ayr, 2 00: quite a few with good chances here, but the victoria cup form of BLUE MIST is just about the best available, where he finished 6th,not beaten far at all.has been dropped 1 lbr too, which can only help,as well as his useful apprentice on board..big shout.
Ayr 2.35 The Peckhampouncer 3/1. Sent over from Kildare to take the loot home. 3rd behind Sunday Sovereign and Arizona in his only maiden.
Not such a good Royal Ascot for me but today I'm just gonna follow James Doyle but in particular my biggest bet is on MASAR.
Both at Ascot 5:00 - Southern Horse 20/1 5:35 - Younevercall 11/2 Ew single on the first one, win single on the second one and ew double on the pair.
perth,2 20: this can go to the in form WELCOME BEN,who has quite a good strike-rate here, and should have no problems with trip/ground etc..9 lbr higher, but won so easily last time out, that a follow-up is distinctly possib
