I don't think its self loathing. Maybe something to do with the current ownership perhaps?

AS OLM said Nigel couldn't accept it, the most positive manager one could wish to meet, and who was touting for the job before Leo was even out of the door. I think I can deduce from that the contract offered was ****e, and they are now stooping into League 1 to find someone who will accept the terms. As I said Cheap and cheerful is their buss word.

Who knows, it remains to be seen? Of cause, we shouldn't forget these are just betting odds, so it doesn't necessarily mean he would get the job. They may have made an approach to find out whether he is free to leave, or whether compensation is due, which could sway their decision one way or the other. Let's just wait and see, but the fact that they are now dipping into Div 1 for managers and probable players, is likely to mean that is where we will be next season. yes, Div 1.

As far as the owners are concerned this is all going to plan. Concentrate on selling the family silver for around £20million to get back some of the money they are 'owed'. Recruiting a manager is less important. When you've spent 5 years trying to sell a club, who cares? Anyone willing to accept a modest wage on a short contract will do.

That's how it works when you are bitter and twisted.

I'd guess that an owner who has repeatedly said they will not put more money into the club as they are selling it, probably isn't going to offer fantastic contracts to managers, ones with or without clubs.

Why aren't they? He / they have an impressive record of not keeping their word. So why on Earth should we believe that quote.
We know by now that we can't trust even 1 single word that comes out of their mouths.

A formal approach has been made (HDM) to Doncaster for Grant McCann.

Why aren't they going to offer great contract offers? See the last few years. See Adkins. See nearly all our players who just decide to leave. See common sense. See they're absolute ****s.

Adkins and McCann overlapped at Scunny right? If so, presumably Adkins will tell him to steer clear you’d imagine.

Depends.. We all assume Adkins ended up despising the Allams given the way they handled his contract, when really it might have been all above board and he just couldnt agree to certain clauses in the contract. They probably shook hands and went their different ways with no grudges held.

If its the latter then Adkins will probably give a glowing review to McCann and say the fans are great, the owners are nice people and the players do a really good warm up...

    Was that really necessary?

He's being realistic. Not everything is ****ing black and amber tinted, sometimes a dose of reality is needed.

I'm sure anything the Allams do or are will be overridden by the fact that we're a league higher than Doncaster, so I think he'll get the job.

No need to attack other posters for speaking their mind.

One of my Donny rovers friends has told me MCcann is an excellent manager on a budget, he likes his players to play football keeping the ball down and prefers a 443 formation. He really rates him

It isn't really, the owners are poison so it's natural to assume that a lot of decent managers would be put off. McCann will blatantly speak to Adkins, I don't know whether he'll be gracious or not but I wouldn't have thought it'd put GMc off the job.

It wasn't a point worthy of a berating from some random on the Internet, that's for damn sure.

See, if Bowen and Grosicki were sticking around, that would be brilliant. Irvine, Batty and Henriksen in the midfield and that would give most teams in the division a good game.

Sadly, once the offers start rolling in, it's all going to come apart.
