I guess reality hits home on how far our stock has fallen when we could attract the likes of Kone, Sessengion, Gyan, Bent, and we could spunk money up the wall on the likes of Rodwell and fletcher etc etc...But now we cannot convince a player from Oxford no-one has ever heard of from joining us and we are looking 2nd best for a player from Ayr Utd FFS. Depressing. Never mind, onwards and upwards
Mate remember none of this is set in stone. None of us actually know if we were/are in fir any of these. Could he we can’t offer them first team and others can. So many things to think about rather than getting annoyed about us being “second choice” for a player. I don't find it depressing at all. Just another unconfirmed rumour
I will watch Charlton and Bowyers progress with interest next year, and hope we can emulate their achievement, it was very impressive.
Good start, I like him and think his success will continue, not sure about Charlton though, we will see. Would not be surprised to see us above them this time next year, at least I hope so. Lets do a Luton.
Charlton are in a bit of a state with their ownership situation so I reckon we might well leap frog them. While our team needs a little bit of work I'm quite optimistic that we'll do fine next season!
Yeah just saw that and you beat me to it! Arsehole of a bloke but seemingly a decent gaffer! Put him and Barton in the same boat
My gut feeling is that he'll be one of those that's a bit of a flash in the pan. But that might be because I don't like him very much. Doubt Lampard will last long at Chelsea either to be honest.
I just put a hypothetical thread up regarding this! Think Lampard will be a decent manager in time. But, in reality, he's done almost exactly what Derby managers have done over the last 5 or 6 years - Got to the play offs or there abouts and failed at the last hurdle! Doesn;t make him a top manager in my book! BUt I do think he will be good at some point
I think Lampard will be fantastic for Chelsea, and change the whole setup, bring the youth on rather than loan and buy. Terry makes sense in a way, another I’d expect to be a good gaffer. Derby have been bang unlucky in all this, like us with Sam, pure timing.
