Strolls raised the same point, and actually I think both are pretty f****** stupid. Farage spoke of donning khaki, picking up a rifle and heading for the front line - which is a metaphor for WWI, but I agree, in the current climate (this was 2017) talking about rifles is crazy. So too Brand talking about milkshakes being pathetic, throw battery acid instead. Farage apologised. Good to see Brand has apologised. We move on, hopefully with those with a public profile being more responsible.
Fair play to Corbyn for talking about British involvement re the Iran tanker incident Jeremy **** of the Con Party then comes out and accuses Corbyn of being anti British... FFS ask the rest of the ****ing world what they think of us British and their interests! Yet the default food that sticks in the throats and minds of the sheep is that Corbyn is the anti christ Ok he is wet at times but on base he stands for his principles. Whether he is a good leader is of course questionable but seriously people compare him to these ****ing idiot blue evil lying ****s he is certainly a man who should be proud of his views on especially this matter. The Cons continue to peddle that the U.K. is alright right and great on everything because it feeds a false British pride back to the flock. In time people will remember Corbyn’s comments a lot more than Hunts he is just a foot soldier of the brain washed imo and apart from the fact that his name rhymes with **** is a useless shadow of a man and politician and will evaporate into nothing. Boris Johnson really looking forward to him getting the same Trump treatment from the public in the future because he will say something in the future as a possible PM that will cost him everything The nation will turn on this man guaranteed and that is the time I am most looking forward to If this country allows that clown to lead the divided kingdom you deserve the future he will bring imo
Such a shame that there seems to be a real hatred towards older people from the under 35s. Another example of how divided we have become I suppose.
Just like he did when innocent civilians were poisoned by Putin's cronies, even when the evidence was patently clear, Corbyn refused to criticise the Russians just as here he sides with a regime that tortures and imprisons it's own people rather than with our allies. You really have to wonder how someone who has no skills whatsoever in diplomacy can be a contender to be our Prime Minister. The man who would have appeased Hitler is a joke...
I certainly don’t hate all old people, Col. That would be silly. Just those who conform to the baby boomer stereotype.
How dare he side with Iran, who we’ve chosen as this years enemy...instead of Saudi Arabia who are this years friend........I mean, the Saudi regime would never dream of ‘torturing and imprisoning (and executing) it’s own people.
What’s the baby boomer stereotype? I know what a baby boomer is, because I am one, and I recognise that we (or some of us) have been the most privileged generation in the history of humanity. But I think we are also a pretty diverse group - hippies, punks, yuppies, extreme left and right, high achievers and drop outs -I don’t know what our ‘stereotype’ is.
Some people fight fire with fire, some fight fire with water. Personally I dont think Corbyn would be a good PM nor do i think hes a good leader for labour, but I do think he reacts sensibly to these situations. 'Almost certainly' was an attack by Iran should have the 'Almost' taken out of the sentence. But **** it, let's get involved in another war, some in society ****ing live for it!!!
While we have an ‘enemy abroad’ to fight.....it takes the people’s mind off the **** going on at home......those in charge certainly ain’t stupid
Fair point. I was referring to those who have, as you say, been fortunate enough to be born into arguably the easiest generation and have grown to be bitter and twisted people resenting those who have come after them and those who didn’t have the good fortune to be born here. I’d never include you in that, SB. No. The worst boomers tend to be those who never really made it and now need to blame someone/something.
Come on Strolls, we all know ex Telegraph editor and excellent military historian Max Hastings is a namby pamby PC loving bleeding heart left wing liberal under the surface. Why should we believe someone who has direct experience of Johnson over an extended period of time? Fake news.
I agree that a segment of my generation have little but contempt and an odd kind of envy of younger generations, but I suspect that has been true of every ‘older’ generation. But there is definitely a small, select subset of baby boomers which is directly responsible for a large element of where we find ourselves now. For that I feel guilty, although I think my responsibility lies in inaction and passively going along with things rather than shaping them. I definitely feel guilty about the privileges I had access to which my kids didn’t (or which had to be paid for when I got them for nowt) and that fact that we have burned our way through an incredible amount of resources without a second thought, and feather nested our old age (final salary pensions, yay!) in ways which are almost impossible now. But at the same time I’m glad to have been one of the beneficiaries.......it’s been a blast and I’m still looking forward to loads of stuff.
