I haven't, although I've seen clips. I like a slasher movie if they're well done... Is it worth a watch?
I normally stay well clear of remakes, after my Wicker Man experience. The director of that particular turd should have had his own wicker man ready for him after filming finished
The Original ? Yes definitely . Slasher it is not , but it's one of those where you don't have to see the blood ( Though there is some ) if that makes sense ? And Rutger is IMHO Brilliant . JJL is as well , but i've always fancied her . You could do a LOT worse
Thanks guys. My son is a plumber, but prefers to work for people rather than go solo. He has just texted to say that he has now arranged to do three private quotes, when he gets back to the UK, plus he has an interview with another company that is branching out into his area of expertise ie bathrooms and kitchens, so things are already looking good for him. He could have taken work away from his two previous employers, owing to clients asking him to take on further work for them privately, as he is really good at what he does (he does everything to a standard he would do for himself) but he did the decent thing and declined so that his employers would benefit. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him, not just because he is my son, but because I have seen most of his before and after photos. Fingers crossed for him.
Remakes are just cash grabs. Hollywood can't think of a new idea so just revisits and most often, ruins a old classic. Here's a few of my top worst culprits. Clash of the Titans Robocop......worse than number 3 amazingly! Total Recall......he didn't even go to Mars.....WTAF! Planet of the Apes (marky mark version) And the only one I actually liked was the Hills have Eyes. Feel free to expand that quick rant anyone........
On the couple of occasions I've read The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists, one the things which stood out was bosses asking the artisans to 'bodge the job'. Herein lies the problem. Often, working class people have nothing but the pride in their own skill in which to do the best job they can as a personal reward, for their own dignity, against the pathetic amount of money that they are paid. And then, on a whim, that dignity is swept away. This is what we are quietly heading back to, and nobody seems to be really noticing.
Anyone with Amazon Prime - I can thoroughly recommend Terry Pratchett / Neil Gaiman’s “Good Omens” with Michael Sheen and David Tennant. Absolutely loved it - just binge watched it over the last 3 evenings ......
Nicolas Cage's hammy over the top acting is actually hilarious and the film itself is notoriously bad....
He should check his contract for his notice period, if this takes him over 2 year's then he is entitled to redundancy pay and not to be unfairly dismissed. So for example if he started 1st July 2017, and he has one months notice, which will start from the day he was informed he was redundant, then that will take him over the 2 year's milestone, that is one month's notice from today would take him to 12th July. If he doesn't have 2 year's service, he still has rights to be properly consulted, so should have been advised he is 'at risk' of redundancy, consulted to have his questions answered, ideas considered and advised of any other job vacancies. If this hasn't happened, he can bring a tribunal claim for failing to consult, even without 2 year's service. He can raise a claim through the employment tribunal on-line system (no charge), as least the employer will then have to spend time responding! It will be worth him ringing ACAS when he is back for proper advice (free service). If he just wants to move on, he should be paid up to and including his last working day, any hols accrued but not taken and his notice pay. Hope this helps and all the luck in the world to him.
Colin Ball is a famous tv character. Without cheating can anyone tell me by what name the character is better known by ?
I haven’t cheated, but recall that Colin is the first name of Trigger from OFAH. Didn’t know the surname, if indeed I am correct.
