Day 36 Bristol City set to miss out as Championship rivals close in on £1.2m Derby County winger previously linked to West Ham United He is set to move elsewhere https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/bristol-city-set-miss-out-2959956
I find it amusing how because Forest won the European Cup nearly 40 years ago it means some people out there still regard them as a huge club. Yes, in terms of fanbase, attendances & payroll they probably still are a bigger club than us, but the gap is not as big as they would make out & (wages aside) it could be argued that we're currently a more attractive prospect to a developing player right now and any move would be a sideways step, rather than a step up.

Huddersfield Town join race for bargain League Two attacker also linked to Bristol City and Leeds United He would be available cheaply https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport...s/huddersfield-town-join-race-bargain-2960828
The reasons why Bristol City have not completed any major signings yet this summer It's been more than a month since the end of the 2018/19 season https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/reasons-bristol-city-not-completed-2961655
Going to be honest here if the club and the management team had their players lined up then why no signings. Especially when Dasilva and Kalas were already here. People can say it’s early doors but we have signed a reserved team defender so far. Not panicking yet but time to start putting the team together. Christ there back training in a few weeks time.
As valuable time is lost on the new signing front then the prices and demands will go only upwards. The last thing we need to be doing is scrambling at the end to get mediocre players. Lot's of speculation but very little action concerns me somewhat especially after all the hype talk.
Don't forget the window closes 5:00pm on Thursday 8th August. Championship summer transfer window 2019 open and close? Window opens: 00:01am on Thursday 16th May. Championship transfer deadline: 5:00pm on Thursday 8th August
Here we go it’s the 11th June and the gruesome twosome are already panicking about the lack of signings despite the fact that Only a handful of clubs have announced anyone so far All players are still under contract There are a whole host of international games going on at the moment so I imagine most negotiations have been put on a back burner City have been excellent in recent seasons of keeping transfers under the radar and they only seem to break a matter of hours before conclusion
Day 37 Brighton & Hove Albion set to tie up £6m deal for defender linked to Bristol City and Leeds United It is all part of a centre-back merry-go-round https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/brighton--hove-albion-set-2964189
'A kingpin' - The expert opinion on League Two player linked with Bristol City, Leeds United and Huddersfield Town He is out of contract at his current club https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/a-kingpin-expert-opinion-league-2964801
I always think that it's good to get the new players in for the start of pre-season training - this is normally the first week of July (something Steve Cotterill did very well when we went up from League 1 - apart from Agard all the transfers were done in June) So 3 weeks until I start to get concerned.
In one breath you want us to bring in top end championship quality players , then in the next complain we haven’t made any signings, these type of players will have many suitors, they aren’t going to sign early. Be patient.
Chelsea's Tomas Kalas teases Bristol City fans on Instagram yet again as Korey Smith drops sly hint Oh stop it Tomas! https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/chelsea-kalas-teases-bristol-city-2965547
I'm not quite sure who your gruesome twosome are loathsneyd but don't you think we need players to be here for early season training and not be some after thought just prior to the real kick-off? I realize that as someone else said it's still early doors but the teams that are prepared early surely have a better chance at getting off the mark than those who are not. However some of your comments to these supposed total detractors carry a lot of truths and yet we can still wish upon a dream. Have a great summer.
For me you want your players in prior to the return and not last minute panic deals which we have seen in the past. Only a couple of weeks to pre-season training.
Does anyone else long for the days where basically the same players re-appeared year after year and team selection was easier for managers? In today's market it has to be so difficult for people like Lee to keep a smile on his face and even harder for him to bring a smile to the faces of moaning old time farts like me.
I would imagine that the ones currently engaged with international matches won't be turning up the first few days of training anyway
Good point! They will probably need some time to recover and it makes me wonder if there is ever an off-season these days.
