That was before the Vitesse Arnhem EL qualifier wasn't it? Edit: just found from the Echo... https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/14...ni-riot-before-a-game-against-vitesse-arnhem/
Just googled it, you're right but apparently Feyenoord fans were involved in that, in some way that I don't really understand.
From memory, I think the Feyernoord fans had some beef with Vitesse, so used our visit as an opportunity to ruffle some feathers. Weren’t the arrests something like 23 Dutch fans and 2 English?
I like his Brexit reference at the end of his statement... he’s heading to Westminster!! Classic Nige: “Together everyone achieves more”
That’s the strange thing about the statement. Hope it doesn’t mean he has some bad personal things to deal with. If it is just football reasons, then he has done very well at Hull(on limited resources) and built his reputation back up.
Surely not the right experience. I don't think he'd take a job lower than manager, but, as a side issue, there has been some talk that Ralph wants another coach or two.
Ive heard this too.......when are they going to let us know who the DOF is. Also the CEO or what ever they call them these days?
It’s just a career decision. He gave an ultimatum to the Allam family with a couple of games to go, saying he wouldn’t just sign a contract extension for the sake of it and that he needed to see clear and aligned thinking on how the club will approach the coming seasons. Hull’s issues have been pretty well-documented and by all accounts the fans are fuming with the club that they didn’t show enough ambition and support for Nigel to commit his future to them. They started the season under Adkins with a tiny squad and he went through pre-season without even having a full set of pros. There’s an expectation this summer that they’ll sell Jarrod Bowen and Kamil Grosicki, plus others, and Nigel wanted to know that he’d be given a good share of the funds to rebuild the squad, which is sorely needed as it already lacked any depth. All the fan reaction online has been goodwill towards Nigel and understanding of the decision. But disappointment and anger at the club once again. Andy Crosby has also left his role, following Nigel out the door. If I were Swansea City, I’d be picking up the phone.
It shows us that while a lot of saints fans are disappointed/sceptical of the Gao “interview”.... if he does give us financial stability of some money if we need it, as well as being able to develop young players and managers; that to some clubs would be a pie in the sky aspiration, but many Saints fans are never happy and want more.
Saints are trying to find out what is our moment of the decade. The first one for voting on is Long's goal v Liverpool or the 8-0 defeat of Sunderland. So far Long's goal is winning.
