hi fellas! back from a short holiday,so im hungry for winners again; hamilton,3 30: an interesting clash of three sprinters of the highest order, and not easy to split them, but although brando and donjuan triumphant are deeply respected here,SANDS OF MALI is far less exposed, and he already had both of them behind, when winning the champions sprint last year.so,with his first run behind him recently, that should have blown all cobwebs away.big chance!
Before I pop ‘orrrrrrrf would ask my long-term regular readers to have a look at the big race ‘oooooooooooooooooooooop’ at Perth on Sunday. Momentous blast from the past or what, team?!? Now, the key question has to be, who is going to text the owner?!? Until the next time…take care.
I will give some examples... you didnt bemoad Nass for providing info on Foxtrot Knight (sorry to open old wound Nass) or Squire or Harristown or anyone else. You just use it and overlay it against your own opinion. You may think what owners / trainers jockeys say is wrong and thats fine - ignore it - thats the right thing to do. It often is! Jockey are the worst judges ever and i choose to ignore 'info' from jockeys in 95% of cases and thats my choice - but i would still rather hear it that not. Whenever you visit a racing yard you will pick up the odd snippet by having a chat with the head lad or assitant trainer (never the trainer!) - course they dont always win but you are way ahead of the odds and overall will end up winning. Again - if you dont like it ignore it. I and many other readers do lile it and have massive thanks to Chelsea and others for sharing it when they get it - whether i choose to folow it or not. Lower grade horse racing (if you haven t noticed) is all about backing the horse on the 'going day'when everyone is fuly alligned to getting it to win - and choosiing to entirely ignore info isnt very wise in my view. By all means discount it for other personal reasons but surely better to know than not?
Started 2nd fav, ran well to finish 2nd to the fav, and although the winner won comfortably, Markhor was running away from the rest of the field and I will certainly give him another chance. Maybe over a longer trip.
Underrated and undervalued trainer so no surprise he’s retiring . But strange timing as he appears to have at least 2 nice 2yos.
I really wish people would read what I said before having a go (and I’ve no objection to anyone doing that, incidentally, just please, please, please read what I say first). How you have added 2 and 2 together and made 1,005,752 I just don’t know. In the past few days I have continually praised someone for giving an ‘I’ve been told…’ which I found enlightening, informative and incredibly interesting. I have no objections to these posts or from owners giving an opinion (although technically is a member of a racing club an owner??? I know old boy Matthew Bidden of the ‘Elite Racing Club’ (if in fact he still works for them…not sure) would have / would have had (delete as appropriate) a fit if you suggested a member of their Racing Club was an owner. But just as someone should be praised for a great post surely, as we don't (yet anyway) live in totalitarian state there is nothing wrong with speaking out against something which you think is a load of old nonsense, ridiculous and drags the forum down. My point yesterday was and I will say this more slowly and more detailed was I, personally, found it hilarious and laced with irony that someone, on the same thread said that they were in text contact with the owner(s) and then later on came on and asked the forum if the horse would run in the ‘Northumberland Plate’. It may be my sense of humour, that is at fault, but that was what I was taking about and found so funny and was satirising. No need to go off on wild tangents, and talk about things I never even mentioned, that was what I was talking about. What he actually said was, in fact, akin to you or I having Sir Simon Cowell on speed-dial and yet asking Louis Walsh if we could sing! And on a side issue I’m not sure why you are moaning at me for not moaning at the Board boy! Find that slightly baffling. I have done on numerous instances particularly about the forum’s favourite Corinthian and dear old Amy Ryan – he’s the strange opinion that neither was any good in the saddle. But on ownership and tipping no as I’ve always found him to be honest, forthright and a good read. But you tell me why should I be moaning about him?!?
I agree it’s your sense of humour at fault. Everyone knows sarcasm is the lowest form of wit.anyway was watching the racing from deepest wales on the tele last night and was quite impressed with the fare on show. That chapman irks me though.
No, no, no, no, no you can’t beat a bit of sarcasm. Although I do appreciate it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. Anyway, re Ffos Las, it received a huge boast and something to put in those promotional brochures when Defoe won last weeks Group 1 ‘Coronation Cup’. As Mr Varian's gelding did, of course, make his bow at the racecourse that the 11th richest man in Wales built with his very own hands.
Fair enough - apologies for missing the satire.... it looked to me like you were having a pop at Chelsea but there you go. Onwards and upwards!
