Of all the things I’ve learned to hate about modern PL football, I think transfer rumours is right at the top of my list. That and “who got the assist”?
Priority at the minute is to get rid of Lukaku and promote Martial back to No.9. We get Dan James for left hand side then. Not sure on this Felix kid but if we don't get him, Rashford will have to play off the right. If we do, Rashford is up front with/alternative to Martial. We then need a right back and two centre halves. Ideally De Ligt and Alderweireld but this is a Woodward world, not an ideal one, so that is not very likely to happen. .
Tell you, what, in all seriousness that wouldn't be a bad deal at the minute. Lose Lukaku and have CR7 and Rashford up front. The only year this century that we haven't been linked with signing him too.
Looks like James is wired up to the machine that goes ping for his medical. Hopefully this is the start of a good window where we get our business done early. Once we get this stupid Nations thing out of the way that should clear the log jam.
Daniel James had a medical at Manchester United yesterday as his transfer to the club moves closer. James will link back up with the Wales squad ahead of their Euro 2020 qualifiers this weekend, and an announcement unveiling him as a United player is expected next week. He will become Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first signing of the summer in a deal thought to be worth around £15m.
Meanwhile, reports say Bruno Fernandes is close to becoming United's second signing with the Portugese international apparently set to complete a deal after the Nations League final.
Manchester United have released 15 players ahead of the new season in the club’s biggest ever summer exodus. James Wilson is the most high-profile academy departure while Regan Poole, who played three minutes of first-team football under Louis van Gaal, has also left after four years with the club. United decided against triggering the one-year option in Wilson’s and Antonio Valencia’s contracts while Ander Herrera chose to leave for Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer. United have offered new contracts to Juan Mata, Alex Fojticek, Paul Woolston and Luca Ercolani. United have also taken up the option to extend Aidan Barlow’s contract. Released United players 2019: Ander Herrera, Antonio Valencia, James Wilson, Regan Poole, Callum Whelan, Thomas Sang, Zak Dearnley, DJ Buffonge, Tyrell Warren, Matty Willock, Matthew Olosunde, Callum Gribbin, Millen Baars, Josh Bohui and James Thompson.
Two names I don't want to see coming to us, now or at any time, - Bale and Bale. IF, as is being made up in the press, we are doing a swap deal for Pogba with RM, there are decent players in their side we could take - Kroos or Varane, for example - just NOT Bale. He's crocked, his motivation has gone, he just wants to build golf courses in the sun and earn silly money for sitting on the bench.
There’s no way we are getting or want Gareth Bale. The lad is as much of a risk as Sanchez was and we ruined our team by signing that idiot. I actually think the days of RM and United doing business are over, if they want Pogba we should quote them £250m and tell them to STFU until they have that money ready.
Apparently James Rodriguez and Kaylor Navas also touted as part of the 'deal'. Why would we want either?
I don't think Bale is craocked by the way, he just wouldn't be up to the rigours of the Premier League anymore. I don't think anyway. He's way better than Sanchez though. His wages are the issue for me.
I wouldn’t want either of those players. Cash is the only way for this to happen imo, the players I think we’d take are the ones Zidane would want to keep. I’m convinced Pogba will be here next season.
Yeh I don't think he'll be able to cope in the PL. Thinking about a midfield with Hazard and Bale at RM sounds pretty good in the spanish league though.
Desperate talk now about a loan deal for Bale - just no, Five years ago, yes, but not now. There's a reason the big clubs aren't queuing up to sign him.
It goes against everything Ole has said we need to move forwards. He’s turned us down enough times now, let him go to China/PSG.
And now it is being reported that we are going to pay de Gea £20m to move on now, rather than run down his contract and leave for free. You couldn't make this crap up.
De Gea will lose his number one spot to Romero if he doesn’t commit and/or doesn’t get his head straightened out for next season. We could spend £1bn on players but none of it would matter if he doesn’t sort himself out.
