Off Topic D-Day Anniversary

Never to be forgotten.

Very moving hearing the veterans.

Finally Britain will have a fitting memorial at Normandy.

 

Unfortunately I think its being forgotten

 

The debt we owe those brave men is immeasurable and will never be repaid.

 

The Queen as dignified as ever.

A shame that the US Ambassador couldn't show some respect.

Sometimes we need a little respect.

I agree that sometimes we go off and get involved in conflicts on the whim of politicians but don't think that was the case with the 2nd world war.

Think the sacrifices made by both the soldiers and civilians in that war are belittled by your comment. We lost many men and women and effectively bankrupted our country to try and protect ours and much of the world’s freedom.

 

My great grandfather drowned at dunkirk I don't mean to belittle the efforts of the fallen

Sorry if I gave the impression I'm not grateful for the efforts of the country and the world during the wars. I also spare a thought for the German soldiers that list their lives fighting rich mens wars.
