Must have happened if the Chronicle say so....... I listened to Stu Donald on the podcast last week and he says he wasn’t selling. 1 week later and we see this rubbish. I wouldn’t wipe my @rse on this publication
This news has been all over social media today. It's not the club that's for sale, just the matter of agreeing what percentage of the club that the new investers end up with. Various stories, but the two strongest rumours are that Stuart Donald will remain the majority shareholder or that the consortium led by the American will acquire the controlling shares, but with SD remaining at the club in some capacity. If the latter is the case, I hope SD remains as Chairman with Charlie as his Executive Director because both clearly know how a club should be run properly.
Can we get investers in though ? what happened to shares anyhow 100,000 buying £1,000 shares there is £100m straight away, that would get us back to the premier league if they throw in a free/reduced season card for next season i would buy. Our potential is huge.
If this is true most of what Donald said was probably bullshit on the podcast. He said nothing had been agreed, no heads of terms signed or anything then all of a sudden we have a new majority shareholder within days? Either the Chronicle are way off the mark, or someone isn't as open as they tell us they are.
According to Look North the Yank is taking a 65% share in the club which includes 10% of Sartori's share ( spelling).Nothing confirmed by the club. Donald isn't selling up completely and we've arranged a pre season game with the Sand dancers on July 11th.
Interesting that this yank is being linked with Falkirk as well. He seems to be attracted by the development potential around the Falkirk Stadium. I live near Falkirk and can see there may be business opportunities there, but can't see how that would be the case at the Stadium of Light. Wonder what interests him, being American it can't just be football .. sorry, soccer.
Look North also said it was speculation and that he was talking to other groups so must only be proposals cos if anything was agreed why would he still be in talks with other parties.
Good news about Methven staying on to run the club, he seems on the ball and we probably owe a big part of our financial turnaround to him.
Lot of speculation around, but it seem that the idea is 64% investor; 20% Stewie; 10% Sartori & 6% Methven. If Stewie & Methven stay on I would be OK with that.
We're still a good buy for someone, support, history, ground, academy, it'll happen soon enough. It's a ticket to all of the Premier League cash for not a huge investment, if run properly.
