And he was quality for England in the World Cup, so he's proven at the highest level. You are confident Valery will reach that level?
All the talk is that Trippier is off anyway after a terrible season. I agree that they would be looking for a more complete player than Valery though so would be surprised if he went there.
I certainly hope so. It's tough to call after just half a season. I thought Callum Chambers was going to go on and become a top player. I don't think we should put the same expectation on Valery that we did with Schneiderlin, Lallana, Shaw, Walcott and many others. Because they were all over hyped, and they all underachieved.
