We all know the trouble teams have defending a title, the expectations are higher... The pressure is higher and it's easier to crack when you're not the underdog.

After 96 points and a CL title is that pressure going to be there despite not winning the PL?

We know we've had trouble in years following a 2nd place title run before... Mentally is this going to be like it was then, or do you think they will continue next year as they ran this one?

I think next year will be a harder year. Not just for us, but City too. I doubt we'll see a run away title fight next year for any team. The league will be more compressed again.

    next year is next year.

salah could break a leg or do a cruciate on the 10th August right after window shuts.

    thats the way it goes.

if you look at this season we had world cup. this year its copa america and acon... and nations league.. ****e..

we will not have preseason for Keita, mane, firmino, salah.. alisson, Henderson, vvd, windy, taa

our team day 1 should be interesting.

other clubs may be differently affected.

    97 points.
After this season I think the team will be brimming with confidence. Winning is a good habit to get into, the more you win the more you expect to and nervousness diminishes. However, they have to be wary of over-confidence.
Can't see us going another season with only one defeat, and it'll be interesting to see how we respond should we suffer one early on.

Probsbly as teams will again know our style more but then if we get recruitment right and have diff types of players we can mix it up in game. To be fair, after CL final last year, we went one better this year.

I doubt well get 97 points again, but if we can get 90 we’ll be in with a shot... unless city truly do become one of the great sides of all time and amass another high 90 point total in which case, have to just say fair play to them.

The key key difference is, we need to make sure we take points off them, at least winning our home game. If we did that this season we’d be champs. Can’t moan at other clubs not taking points off them when we don’t do it ourselves.

That said, in theory arsenal and spurs should be stronger. Chelsea prob won’t be if this transfer ban and new manager, and united.. well I can’t see OGS being the new Ferguson and I think they’ll finish the season with a new manager so could be another rebuilding job for them

    I can't recall but that'd be funny.

I'd love to look back at the bayern 0-0 and see which of us said dump the cup and focus on league. god knows... could be me could be anyone . I can't remember. In general I wouldn't say that normally.

Frankly anything above above 80 points is brilliant. 3rd was 72 point this year... such was the collapse by the end. another year and 76 was barely 4th.

If city got 98/100 points again then as yu've said it will be our fault for giving them 3,4 or 6 points. We need to really make sure that doesn't occur.

    LAST season

we were 17-2-0 at home. we were 13-5-1 away.(City were 18-0-1 home and 14-2-3 away)

If we can make anfield that strong again... 53 point at home. then we will we up there.

Really you look at certain players and go... really you cannot get better than that now with our team. 4 of the back 5 with gomez as odd man out and could be great next year. If we are as mean as we were last year and we are really focused i think we will do well.

We are no 1 pot in CL!!!! no 1 pot. that means we are really looking at a big big team in pot 2. (dortmund, real, atletic etc etc) and then pot 3 and pot 4 give us the easy ride. We ought to be in last 16 with a couple games to spare.

I'm already looking with the few extra games at what our 2nd 11 is.

mingolet?? can he stay i dunno.
    Ki Matip Lovren milner
    ox Windy jones
    Shaqiri brewster origi

Its hardly title winning is it? its there to play sf of world club, play league cup and get us through to January next. Imo next year will again see us looking for big slice of luck with cup draws to progress and klopp leaning heavily on these guys

3 kids really need to push on. Jones, Brewster and ki. Would love to see us pull a taa again here cos i REALLY rate 2 of them ;)

Add a full back, add a forward and it improves of course but lets see.

What we found last season was a way to win 1-0, 2-0, 2-1 etc just did enough a lot of the time.. never really cut lose and i think it'll be interesting to see if keita and ox can add that to us.

    City will struggle next season

They won almost everything and still no media or fans like them

    Ongoing investigations into FFP

VAR ruling out their #standard offside goal per game

Players knowing they're just flat track chequebook bullies with no hope in Europe
