^ bitter as f#ck I couldn’t hear Utd fans sing at all at the final Spurs fans have taken their defeat much better than Utd fans to be fair.
What Jurgen Klopp told Pep Guardiola on phone after Liverpool's Champions League win https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/what-jurgen-klopp-told-pep-16241786
time for hard analysis. pochettino first. he took 3 big risks. one paid of in spades one tried hard one was a disaster. he left the disaster on for 90mins. poch knew he couldn't play us with anthing but his best midfield so.he got 65mins out of winks. he did well enough. gave absolutely everything. he risked Kane and not totally backfired. moura never did a.thing coming on late. sons was relegated to wide man... Kane.was.easy meat and a simple push and shove cb battle the ref allowed happen. if spurs.played moura and son and endured alli they might have got somewhere. alli was also.way off form. Spurs.made so many unforced errors.in possession too. Liverpool risked firmino and we hauled.him.off early ish. windy did the usual he does and he got hauled.off.. away game.drop windy. it's a rule not a suggestion. after we got our gift we sat really narrow and pinned.full backs in. mane left Trippier in 20/30 yards space and imo it was.deliberate.to.squeeze spurs. spurs.couldnt find him from lloris at all hardly and so we could.easily keep.spurs out. by the time.robertson, taa and finally.milner all had.chances spurs had done nothing.... nothing. vvd showed his pace, milner showed why hes a winger pretending to be a cm... but then we folded imo. the midfield couldnt do anything and we we just handing it back to spurs who had several.half.decent chances.... most were snatched shots not real guilt edged chances and alisson dealt.with everything.
We won - that’s the main thing. Sh*t game tbh. Having a 3 week gap to the final did it for both teams. No rhythm to the game at all. Hopefully UEFA change this, it should have been last week.
they set the date for all of Europe. the fa imo are the one who didn't manage their calender. That said... with nations league, copa and acon I find 1st June late.
Congratulations fellas, I said you’d win and you did. Awful game though, not aided by what imo was a ridiculous penalty call after 20 seconds. Kane should never have started and too many on the Spurs side never showed up. Made for an odd contest.
pen was harsh but who stands in the penalty box like that these days? Madness. Game was crap tbh but we don’t care!
Not getting into pen Ref gave it Hand in ridiculous position, i have heard many fans claiming it shouldnt have been given cause was in first min. Falls into the wtf did you do category for me Anyways how is everyone this morning I am off to a tournament where the boss of the team is a spurs fan Top fella Yesterdays dragged but at least i just a parent today lol When i get back going to sit down and watch all the gubbins surrounding final last night Not bothering with game Might rewatch the 4-0 too
Oh and btw there’ll be one red who won’t be enjoying Madrid today or when he gets home. Check out #****buddha on Twitter
for me..... pen is as much a pen as Utd got v psg. the same.ref.... so consistent. after that its all whining and bitterness. we had tonsuck it up last year about karius and at least we had bale strike as a goal.worthy of winning it to say I'm fair enough. spurs were beaten by us scoring. not by a fluke. I feel for their fans cos.i know what it's like but I won't celebrate any less.
Thrilled to bits with the win but there's a much bigger sense of relief than in 2005. We have such a great team and, to have got 97 points and reached back to back CL finals and come away with nothing would have been tough to take. With so many CL winning worthy players in our team it would have been tough to keep them all if we were still trophyless under Klopp.
Bigger problem if we weren't competing. Finals can go either way. League cup final, Europa league final, two champions league finals in a row and just missing out on the league. Klopp has been successful regardless
Wasn't a great final, but then again, we've already had our memorable final in the CL. This one was about winning, and in some ways it was an anti Liverpool performance, but an experienced one... A very good defensive display, it must of been a frustrating night for Spurs with us scoring so early, they had nothing to cheer about the whole game and barely created a guilt edge chance against us. Allison was superb and dealt with everything he had to - which is somewhat ironic after how the final went last year. I don't think it's quite sunk in yet, but at least we now have that monkey of our backs, hopefully this will give us a platform for more success. Well done Klopp and the team, best in my lifetime and excited to see what's next.
