All this tactics talk is pointless...Mane gave an interview with talksport today and was asked if Liverpool were destined to win the CL...and he said yes. So there you have it...let the sadness begin
I mentioned this on this thread this morning we have to pin their fullbacks back and play to our strength and we will be ok but I'd have llorente up top and bring kane on later
Problem with Llorente is that Van Dick is one of the few defenders in the world who can beat him in the air. Once you strip that out from under the bonnet, there ain't much left to drive with.
As could De Ligt. But if VVD is used on Llorente it presents Son, Moura, Dele and Eriksen space away from Pool's best defender. If unmarked (or left with Blind like at Ajax) his flick ons can cause chaos.
I'm just wondering if kane can last the distance he's our best striker but the injury has set him back and he's not match fit so I'd rather he was on the pitch towards the end of the game for his leadership qualities and his goalscoring prowess and for penalties if that happens
We can all relax: Mark Lawrenson's tipped us to lose this one I guess now we just have to go through the formality of showing up...
Liverpool are 5/11 odds on favourites and, according to Mane are destined to win because of last year and their comeback v Barcelona and according to Shaqiri will win it for Klopp. It's all very understandable...After all, they beat us twice this season...and we lost 19 games this season...while they only lost 1 league match and got 97 points...and we were lucky against city cos an offside goal was not allowed to stand and the ball barely brushing Llorentes forearm is equal to him punching the ball in... Think we should do what leeds did v Villa and just let Liverpool walk the ball in the net!
But have they factored in that the mousers star player, Michael o'Liver_pool, the man who makes Wenger look like the Hubble telescope, won't be with them in Madrid?
Temperature predicted as 30C during the game. I hope the squad has been putting the hours in on passing drills these past few days (make the ball and not your team mates do the running) , as energy needs to be saved for the final 30 mins.
We also do hot weather training each year too so hopefully that can help in some form to the players in terms of acclimatising “easy-er”.
personally think it will be a bit grim - 3 weeks ago i think it could have been a cracker but now can't see it.
My cousin got sent a photo yesterday showing an email from Spurs saying a very few amount of tickets had been returned and therefore those with 185 points could get a ticket. That now means I’ve missed out on a ticket by 4 points. Sickener.
Hell yeah. In a weird way, I don't want tomorrow to come. I'm so chuffed about how we came back against Ajax and are now in the final, that I don't think I could take the heartbreak if we lost after waiting 30+ years to see us in a game of this magnitude. Of course, all that could be different if we pull off an incredible win tomorrow. But truthfully, I don't know what to expect tomorrow. I just hope we all turn up and turn it on in style.
