I have no idea whatsoever about him. I doubt many will other than what we read in the gossip columns. Klopp rarely gets it wrong though.
Cant say ever seen him play but had a lot of hype this season it seems. Wide forward isn’t he? Def need some more options to rotate with Salah and mane.
I've similarly no opinion on the lad. it won't take.much time looking in a red shirt to know though...
striker salah, mane, brewster, origi shaqiri is cover for right side left side only option is mane or origi.
Wilson has played left side for Derby but i assume he is on his way. While he didn't set the world on fire he did play approx 50 games and he also moved right across the pitch playing no 10 plus left & right. That experience should help him get a move and us a decent fee.
Anyone else still think we’ll have a quiet summer? There was some talk that we couldn’t afford to spend big as the season drew to a close. I can see us offloading quite a few fringe players tbh. Generating a decent amount in doing so. I still think that there’ll be at least one ‘big’ signing of say £50m plus. We pulled Fab out of the bag quickly last year and then chased Alison when we knew that we could get him. Fekir fell by the wayside because of that deal imo so it’ll be no surprise if we sign him this year.
Wilson is left footed so Mr lampard actually got very little out of him there. he needed to play right side to cut in.
1 or 2 imo. depends on what clubs do and what bargains they want late. I'd assume if we've one real target we would try get them early bit we will see in the end. 0 signings = fall behind. we all know it.
Yup. First team needs quality options imo. Ultimately, that was the only difference between City and us. That and easier Cup draws...
No deals close yet. Fewer credible rumours going around than last year. I predict maybe a couple of squad players to replace a couple going out, they'll see action, but doubt we will get anyone to replace first xi they're all doing well and still young. No weak links except in the "extras"... A couple of kids... Nothing to write home to Mum about. We will get signings, but it won't be a dramatic summer.
Fabinho came from nowhere last summer. Keita we already knew and Alisson was rumoured somewhat but just suddenly happened. We arent doing anything till after the final anyway, but with the stupid transfer window this summer Klopp will look to buy even sooner
Fabinho recently did an interview with Esporte Interativo: - "I remember that after one of my games for Monaco, against Marseille, where I’d played well and scored, Firmino sent me a message and we started to talk. He said 'the coach asked about you, what I thought about you, I talked you up a little bit'. We exchanged some messages for a while, asked him some things about Liverpool and that was it for a while." - "Then Liverpool reached my agents, made them aware of the interest and set up a meeting with Klopp. We talked about his ideas for the team, work routine, tactics, physical training. My interest was rising, because I had always said that if I were to leave Monaco, it would only be to a team that really wanted me. I was very happy with Liverpool wanting to sign me and then made my mind that it was the right thing to do. It was quick, right after the final against Real Madrid, the signing was made official." - "That moment with Klopp was very important, but also the transition when I arrived. Played pretty much all the preseason games, thought that I played well, and because of that, also thought that I would start playing earlier, not wait as much I did. Others players made sure that I was relaxed, they told me 'don’t worry, everyone that arrives goes through that, like Robertson and Chamberlain'. I was calm, tried to learn about the team, the other players, getting used to the intensity of the league. After a while, Klopp gave me the chances and little by little I could show my value and that I could be important to the team." This game was on 29 Jan 2018. We signed him on 28 May 2018. Confirms that we really do know what we're doing in the transfer market - approached him very early on, kept it under wraps and announced him just after the CL final once literally everything was done. I reckon there's a solid chance we'll see a signing or two confirmed next week.
