Moderate fare today but in the 2.10 Leicester I feel Beryl The Petal will take the beating. David O'Meara's filly obviously has her limitations but she generally runs to a decent level, with only two poor efforts in her career to date. She has been tried at a mile and 7F but back to 6F today I think it may help. She generally runs on all-weather surfaces recently but I reckon she will be OK back on turf and it is a very uninspiring contest she finds herself in today. Beryl The Petal was 2nd in a 7F race at today's course last time out and off the same mark of 68 she looks likely to run well again. The opposition fail to excite me and she looks the one most likely to run to her form. They try her in first time cheekpieces today, so any assistance that may give is a bonus. Not a great price at 2/1 but I would probably make her a 6/4 shot in this company. She stood out quite strongly for me today. 2.10 Leicester Beryl The Petal 2/1
Well done anyone who got the 40/1 winner Queen Of Burgundy. Beryl The Petal just looked slow today, struggling to raise the pace to get a good position and then staying on for third. I will be surprised to see her at 6F again and surely at least 7F next time. She will get few better opportunities to win a race than today and it was shocker to see a horse who was 150/1 last time she ran coming into a handicap and winning well at 40/1. Bookies benefit.
hindsight shows the winner running in better company in her maidens , opening mark was very fair , low grade racing is ever thus
leicester,3 40: quite a few with chances here, but i think,VICTORY CHIME will go well today.was a shade disappointing on his seasonal debut a few weeks ago,but may have had excuses(trip/first run of the season),and his last win two starts ago is working out really well, because the second horse has run to a good level afterwards,so,with that first run behind him, good chance..
Ol boy Wicklow Brave making his debut over the big uns this evening at Ballinrobe. Has regularly dined at the top table both on the flat and over hurdles but this switch to fences with WB in his 11th year and the veteran of 50+ races looks a bit desperate. He'll probably hose up now but he won't be carrying any of my dough at even money.
ballinrobe,6 30: this looks fiercely competitive and wide open, but a mare i really like is GETAWAY KATIE MAI.she was a very useful bumper horse, and has made a seamless transition over hurdles, being ultra-consistent.so,this mark might underestimate her,and a bold show can be expected tonight.definite e w value.
