Gunn is much younger and has a higher ceiling. He's also more comfortable and better with the ball at his feet, which is how Ralph prefers to play. Ralph is capitalising now and speeding up his development with first team exposure, rather than having him sat on the bench behind someone who turns 30 this year. That's what I think it is, anyway. 24 Years since Bobby Stokes died...unbelievable that all that time has passed and proof that he died far too soon. How much living have we all done in that time.
I met Bobby when I was 17/18. I was in awe but managed to ask him what it was like to score the winner in a cup final. He was such a timid chap, but his reply will live with me forever: “To be honest, I shinned it.” RIP Bobby. Forever a special place in the hearts of Saints.
