That is, as we know, an important factor. Probably more important than minor things like 52,000 crowds and their own stadium. At least in Allam’s World.
Yet some still cling to the belief that the Allams are only trying to get their money back with the ridiculous price tag they have put on us !
Think most have passed caring and don't have any belief about anything. It will be sold one day but who knows when or how long?. Everyone knows it's well over priced but like i say it's gone on that long that many don't take notice anymore.
Newcastle City Council hold the freehold of SJP, Newcastle United are the leaseholders. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Well, if that deal goes through perhaps he'll put a few bob Hull's way to smarten up Hammonds. Went in last week, looks like Boyses with less stock.
Cheers. I am embarrassed to admit that I didn’t know that. Always assumed they owned it with all the reconstruction that has gone on there. Seems some owners improve council houses. And some councils continue investing in stadiums.
Helps? No not really - it just helps put the price up accordingly. If you don't have such a massive fan base, don't own your own stadium, etc. you just sell at a lower price. Easy init?
Funny how the media always go on about Mike Ashley under-investing in Newcastle... 1. The bloke just broke the clubs transfer record 2. He funded their promotion out of the Championship twice & 3. Has funded the wages of Rafa Benitez... not exactly selling off your best players, replacing them with league one players and getting in an unknown to manage them is it? Would be quite glad if he bought us off the Allam's and showed that kind of generosity. Even if it means he buys the stadium naming rights off KCOM.
I am sure he would. Then not take the slightest bit of interest. No one tells him how to run, sorry, ruin, his football club. He is doing a good job of it without any help.
It will be interesting to see if this Newcastle deal comes off. There is on social media some reports saying that this person is not the cousin of the Man City owner and that Liverpool, who he allegedly tried to buy, have said they were times wasters, and never came up with proof of funds.
Difficult if both sides don’t have the will. The council built the KC and that was the end of their interest. Newcastle council have invested in and improved the stadium further. A lot of money put in by the owners as well, who obviously trust the council. Maybe both sides in Newcastle have better representatives?
My father-in-law did substantial improvement to his council house after moving during the war from leasing a pub in the centre of Hull to Marfleet. In the house he fitted an immersion heater to the copper hot water tank replacing the flued coal fire heating system thereby decreasing the time for a full tank of hot water from hours to 30 minutes. Improved the house electrical wiring system at the same time. At the back he constructed a greenhouse and a rainwater collection system plus a vegetable and fruit bush/ tree garden. The front of the house was lawned and featured a lovely weeping cherry blossom tree and numerous rose bushes and other plants. My husband had to mow the lawns as one of the tasks to earn his pocket money. Today in the front only the cherry tree remains with the lawn and plants replaced by white pebble(council).
