Looks like we have a partner club in Japan now. https://southamptonfc.com/news/2019-05-25/southampton-fc-shimizu-s-pulse-partnership-announcement
Good to see that we're so delighted about it that we didn't even want to post it on any of the official social media channels. And neither did they. In fact, they didn't even put up a press release. Ah, the sweet smell of collaborative ineptitude.
It's on the OS....I don't see any significance to the news not being on the social media sites...unless something doesn't exist until it's on twitter. Can't buy that.
They put up a much longer statement, its just in Japanese https://www.s-pulse.co.jp/news/detail/42687/ Edit: The article praises Goa and says he has links to the city spanning 30 years. Says the owners are friends and the deal wouldn't have been possible without him. Also mentions that they came to Southampton last year so this seems to have been a long time in development. Goa praises their City, talk about his time there learning about economics. Then praises us and how we have produced so many players, says we want to continue creating players and that they are a young team who also produce players. Talks about an exchange of idea's, not only in regard to developing players, but technology, business and management ideas too. It doesn't really read like its something that will affect us fans.
They’ve had some extravagant kits over the years. Interesting the partnership is deemed official. We’ve heard plenty of clubs visiting staplewood etc for the exchange of ideas, wonder what takes this up a level?
Anyone remember this? MK Dons away in the league cup. It was hilarious at the time and on top of a 6-0 win...
If ever you get really miffed with Saints [as I have done these past few seasons for blowing the momentum and ambition built up during the Cortese/Marcus Liebherr era] just think of Coventry City: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48413990 I suppose I have to thank that twerp Rupert Lowe for Saints not taking that step. Jeez.
I wonder if people would have voted for him if they had known what an objectionable self-serving twerp he has been. Would that have mattered?
I think he lives near me, but the boundary between West Mids and South West must be in between his manor estate and my, er, terrace.
Can someone answer me a question about Saints goalkeepers? I know why Forster got supplanted by McCarthy, but what did he do so wrong that Gunn too over? At one point McCarthy was in a full England squad, I think?
Gunn suits how Ralph wants his goalkeepers to play more than McCarthy and is seen as a huge player going forward. Plus McCarthys form was starting to decline as well, in my opinion. It was always going to happen at some point last season.
