EDIT: Because I refused to believe mine was correct (It was, by several months), I did some research and this was number one on my birthday... in Australia. THAT STILL COUNTS.
Thought you were a fellow 1991'er? Some Swedish quality right there tho Released 1992 Edit: Now you made my Swedish comment look uninformed, damn you! /Respect the Ace of Base
Although I don't know, I was going to say 'Keep the home fires burning' as a joke but in fact that's in thoroughly bad taste as Hull was bombed to Hell 4 months later. I suspect that there were more important things on people's minds at that time. RIP so many.
Like you I had to look at what was number one in the USA as there wasn’t a chart in the UK when I was born. Pleased to find out it was the theme from my all time favourite film. Which was the best musical background of any film in my opinion.
US no. 1 [/QUOTE] Liked the B side of St George and the Dragonet, Little Blue Riding Hood. You need to be of a certain age to get them properly. Same with this, my favourite Freeburg number. You have to be old enough to remember Johnnie Ray to really appreciate it. The “dramatic” bit in the middle is hilarious.
