I know he gave the ball away at times, but in flashes tonight showed just how good he is. I think you guys are underrated and did well to get out of there with a draw and clean sheet.

Getting points when not playing well is a sign of a good team. Fair play.

  2. Tiote has had a slow start. If you were impressed with him tonight, just wait till he gets his form back from last season. You'll jizz!

Tiote is steadily getting back to speed.

He looked lost and didn't look like he knew what he was doing for some of it. If you're thinking this now, you need to see him at his best! <ok>

Wow. You should have watched him last season then. He wasn't even a fraction of the player he should be today, had a very poor match by his standards. Agree though, if we can play poor and come out with a clean sheet we're doing something right.

  5. This is what i said in my thread today. The mark of a good team is the ability to grind points out of games you're 2nd best in.

Don't get me wrong I always knew he was half decent but for some reason I barely ever got to see Newcastle live last season so couldn't really tell.

Don't take it the wrong way but he could easily play for any club in the League IMO <ok>

He's much better than what he showed today. But there was glimpses of him reaching last years form. <ok>

Cheers mate I agree we are underrated given how well we did last year but it works in our favor I suspect.

    Good luck for the season

Where you guys watching the same game as I was tonight. He was awful compaired to last season and every game he has been WELL below par. I was gonna post an article about where has tiote gone but lets be honest here. Hes been pig awful since the start of the season.

Dont get me started on Raylor, Shola and Jonas.

But can I just mention that Simpson played quite well and so did Best. Apart from them the rest where useless.

He turned down interest from Chelsea not too long ago, I think we know we've got a real gem on our hands.

Him and Ryan Taylor must've had a bet on who could give the ball away the most

I'd like to know who won

Our midfield two were poor because they had three playing against them, we couldn't keep a hold or figure out an attack due to it, tiote was poor but his touch and game will improve, Simpson played well and best needs someone along side him who offers a bit of link up play, and shola was shola!!

Tiote was almost as bad as Raylor tonight. Pre-season in Africa to blame hopefully. I wish he'd release the ball a lot earlier before the inevitable tackle comes in.

He was absolutely shocking by his standards tonight. He has been all season. He looks off the pace, but he missed a big chunk of pre season. He is world class for me and although he was poor, there was the odd glimpse of his old self. He killed us though with possession. We won't see the best of cabaye until he finds his form. I hate to say it but we missed Barton tonight, he just has real know how on the pitch and is clever at working the ball.
