We haven’t been able to see much of him as every time he has recovered from an injury and built his fitness back in the u23s he picks up a really unfortunate injury.

He was awarded a new contract at the same time Lewis and Aarons were given theirs so he is obviously highly rated by the staff. Let’s hope we can keep him fit this year and give him the opportunity to show us what he can do

I agree with everything you said, Rob. I was just shocked that someone who's played so little the last two years has been called up to the senior team by Giggs.

Adios from Mr Jarvis... I braced myself when I opened this tweet expecting a lot of dickhead responses but it was extremely positive from Norwich fans. Crappy luck for him and the club really. All the best MJ.

It's a shame, it's not his fault he kept on being injured, some blame to the club for offering such a long contract, but hey all the best to him!

The most ridiculous thing we jumping the gun and signing him on a long term deal when we still had him on loan for another few months!

Aw, and it's his birthday today as well! :emoticon-0166-cake:

I can't feel too angry about signing Jarvis. Although he was injured with a twisted knee when we signed him on a permanent, we couldn't have foreseen this would lead to knee surgery, ruptured patella (obviously connected) and subsequent problems. He was a classy player, and we got in quick to sign him.

Just one of those things, can't be compared to wastes of space like Naismith or Oliveira in my opinion.

Many people forget or ignore the fact that he was a key player in winning promotion to the PL when we signed him. He couldn't help the injury that plagued the end of his career.

My bad DH. I thought it was the promotion year but his year long loan was turned into a permanent in December 2015. This from Wiki:

"On 1 September 2015, Jarvis signed on a season-long loan for Norwich City. Eleven days later, he scored his first goal for the club against Bournemouth in a 3–1 win. On 24 December 2015, Jarvis signed a permanent contract with Norwich, to take effect in the January transfer window, for a reported fee of £2.5 million."

The permanent contract came long before his injury.

Pretty much what I said, though of course the twisted knee could have been the start of his problems. Just no way we could have known that.

DF makes an important point in his review of Kenny McLean's season, citing his well balanced partnership with Trybull at the heart of our unbeaten run:

"In fact, that pairing were pivotal to a 14-match unbeaten run which brought the Championship title and those memorable promotion celebrations at City Hall, with McLean racking up three goals and five assists, also reclaiming his Scotland place along the way."

It's going to be quite a battle for midfield places next season.

    Edit: Forgot the reference:

One out the door early, Carlton Morris has signed a new NCFC deal, then joined Rotherham on loan for the 19-20 season.

REALLY pleased to see this and I think I said that I hoped that it would happen.
OK, it may not work out for him, but at least he should get the chance to play regularly. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Let's hope he can put a few goals in our Suffolk neighbour's net down the road in League 1

I like the sound of this move. It's still only League 1, so not much of a progressive loan, but at least it is top end.

I also like it and it's a good chance for Carlton after his serious injury last season. The club clearly feels that he has potential and this allows him a platform to prove it.

Yeah I think it's an important loan for him. He scored 10 in 53 appearances for Shrewsbury at this level in 17/18, he knows the league. Rotherham will be looking to be at the top of the division like Shrewsbury were that season. He'll have a full pre-season to integrate into their squad, and can stake a claim to start right away. Rotherham also lack a good, established striker in their side. Semi Ajayi top scored with 8 goals in the last season, from CB/DM! Their other strikers got 8 and 4 goals respectively all season, in all comps. He's got a Norwich fan for a manager, who seemed very keen to have him. It looks like this loan move has every reason to be a success.

If Carlton has a big future in the game (and at Norwich), he realistically has to be targeting 20 goals. If he scores 10 it looks like he's plateaued at League One level. If he has a massive season (and Norwich get relegated), he's got a strong chance of going straight into the first team.

Carlton going on loan also suggests that Idah could be nearing the first team squad as the fourth striker.
