Here is a list of the most successful teams of the past 10 years (so far) 2018-19 back to 2009/2010 Rankings: 1. Chelsea: 3 league titles, 3 FA cups, 2 league cups, 1 CL , 1 Europa = 5 Major, 5 minor 2. City: 4 league titles, 2 fa cups, 4 League cups = 4 major, 6 minor 3. Utd: 2 League titles, 1 Fa cup, 1 league cup, 1 Europa = 3 Major, 2 minor 4. Leicester: 1 league title = 1 Major 5. Arsenal: 3 Fa cups = 3 minor 6. Wigan: 1 FA cup = 1 Minor 7. Swansea: 1 League cup = 1 minor 8. Liverpool: 1 League cup = 1 minor 9. Birmingham: 1 League cup = 1 minor. * Teams ranked by Qty of major titles then the qty of minor titles. Noting that no gala event bit of tin counts. Have ranked Europa as major as per other competitions that gain entry into CL. Year - Champions - fa winners, League cup winners, European trophy 2009/10 Chelsea, chelsea, Utd 2010/11 Utd, city, Birmingham 2011/12 City, chelsea, Liverpool, cheslea CL 2012/13 Utd, wigan, swansea, Chelsea Europa 2013/14 City, arsenal, city 2014/15 Cheslea, arsenal, chelsea 2015/16 Leicester, utd, city 2016/17 chelsea, arsenal, utd, Utd europa 2017/18 city, chelsea, city 2018/19 City, city, city So as of today Chelsea are still the most successful side of last 10 years in england. 2 major trophies left to win this year. Can cheslea extend their lead or will arsenal jump to 4th? Can Liverpool get to 5th or will spurs make it 10 sides winning things over 10 years? Only time will tell. Most importantly when will we see another wigan or swansea in the "euphoria" of the watford defeat (who played right into city's hands) people forget that wigan beat city in an FA cup final.
you have a hard on for chelsea, you kept going on about them on another thread and now you post this chelsea and city success has all been brought, fake!!
It’s interesting if you look at last 5 years as that decimates the underdog I think literally Leicester stand alone Whereas the previous 5 - you can do six and it be the same - offer a different story Money is power But that is nothing new but we are heading the same way as most leagues now.
true but I kept it as major anyway cos to everyone else on the pmanet bar england it is major. plus how can you have a minor cup y oy qualify for by playing in minor cups.
and you.look back 5 years further back the only **** team who wins anything is spurs. Wigan and Swansea and Birmingham all show recently and unusually small teams can win minor trophies if they try hard. Leicester still a total miracle.
Yes, but it's a fairly important trophy when anyone else wins it; it's only a small cup when marred by them! Winning a European cup, even a second string one is prestigious- it gets noticed outside your own country. Personally I'd rank the trophies available to English clubs in prestige in this order: 1) Champions League. 2) Premier League / Europa tied 4) FA Cup 5) League Cup 6) World Club Cup 7) European Super Cup 8) Charity Shield That said, I'd have rather won the PL this year than win the CL this year, simply because it has been so bloody long.
success is not measured by preason friendlies and gala affairs. I've never seen anyone refer to andy murray for example as 3 time grand slam champion, double olympic gold winner and 2 time bbc sports personality I've never heard anyone defend messi as GOAT by saying sure he's never won the a tournament with argentina but he got to 2 finals and is a 5 times world player of the year.
