Maybe there are some old school fuddy duddy ****head chairmen left, but like I said, most of these high falooting football owner types just care about cash money mate.
A statistical anomaly doesn't automatically mean that some kind of discrimination is occurring, though Social Justice warriors are quick to jump to this conclusion.
For instance, girls have been kicking boy's arses in exam results at GCSE level for the past 20 years, there is a big disparity between the genders.....Does that mean that school institutions are sexist towards boys?
No. The most likely explanation is that girls are better behaved than boys so learn better.
If there is a similar explanation for fewer black managers then feel free to post it. And don't say fewer applications because that is bound to be the case if there is known discrimination

the disparity is between qualified coaches with the same qualifications applying for the same jobs.
And the disparity in public school results is between kids of the same age, who have taken the same lessons, with the same teachers.

How many black players have gone on to do their coaching badges?

What percentage of the UK is black?

It’s like everyone’s trump card. I didn’t get that job because I’m [insert some form of excuse]
The % of the UK that is black is irrelevant as that isn't the pool of qualified candidates. And I agree that individual cases prove nothing. But racism is the only explanation that I can see that explains the data.

That’s either down to application or ability, what part of that analogy doesn’t work are you struggling with?

So I just googled.

3% of the UK is defined as black.

Therefore top flight football is racist as it is far beyond that.

I really don’t give a ****. It’s all about best person for the job in my opinion. Emile Heskey needs to get out there and start applying and not trying to cherry pick.

It would be for you.
Arent you the guy that wanted a world government with no country borders etc? <laugh>
Yes because the data says that would be the best way of reducing world poverty.
My beliefs are driven entirely by data and analysis. If there is a different cause on this case then draw my attention to it and it might change my mind.

They’ve already qualified brains.
And?
That doesn't mean their abilities are of the same standing?
Presumably Fat Sam and Pep Guardiola did the same UEFA coaching exams to get their badges.....would you say they are of equal ability?

Look, I think maybe some old school racism has some effect on the statistics here, but I dont think it is anywhere near as effective as what people think.

Football is about money.......and the big boys really couldnt give nine ****s what colour someone is, as long as they are making them tall stacks of it.

The numbers don’t back up that dismissal of the issue, there’s a massive disparity that can’t just be merely down to talent.

It’ll hopefully change as the age profile and type of Chairmen who do the hiring alters, but to say there’s never been an issue in this area is naive.
This has been a sport in England with predominantly white footballers. You'd expect to see predominantly white football managers. There's more black footballers playing than ever before so over the next 5-10-15 years they'll be more black players going into management.

Sol Campbell has form for lying about being racially abused. He's a very lucky man that Macclesfield have given him a chance. A lot of chairman wouldn't go near him (rightly) for that reason alone.

Hughton has done well so he gets decent jobs. Ince was a disaster. Chris Powell has done alright and he keeps getting jobs.

I don't believe with the money that is involvedwith football now that chairman don't bat and eyelid at black footballers at the club but won't have a black football manager.

And?

Newly qualified coaches with the same badges and no experience of management are all starting at the same point.

So using the Fat Sam and Pep argument is absolute horse **** in this context.

Forgetting Heskey, it’s patently obvious there’s been an issue in this area for years, as I said, hopefully it’s becoming historic, but denying its existence is ridiculous given the simple facts.

5 out of 92 club managers are black.

Racism racism racism <wah>

Power Spurs will use any excuse to say that the only answer he can come to is Racism. He's done it on the politics thread too.

Bless him.

if 3% of the UK is black and 5.5% of UK Football managers are black.....if anything then, football is above the national average for diversity.

You could also argue, using the same logic, that PL football clubs are xenophobic, since only 20% of PL clubs have British managers, yet the UK has a 87% British population!
