He's a good boy is Luke. His passion and enthusiasm has won us over. He didn't deserve that from the Portsmouth supporters.

I think they will need to score at least a couple of goals if they are going to win it, which seems to be a problem at the moment apart from the Coventry game.

I think the initial reaction to league one by Sunderland was that they should pee this league and wouldn't be here long. I can understand that given where they came from and their support etc. but I did tell them early doors that this was no push over league as others had found out to their peril previously. I think by now they have come down to earth a bit and do realise that this promotion thing isn't a gimme. I think that the result between the two clubs in the final is a hard one to call. Charlton were shaky in the previous round but they are a good side. I am pleased that Sunderland shut Pompey up and they aren't in it. For the right fee I am prepared to make a small wager on one or the other. Given my record on football wagers in your competition which ever one I bet on is sure to lose. For devilment sake at the minute I maybe would want to see Pompey v Sunderland next season given the goodwill this season's matches produced with the supporters.

Looking at league one next season if Sunderland don't make it this season & Pompey are not going to make it. When you look at who came down & are coming up from league 2. I can not see any of them worrying Pompey or Sunderland in league 1 next season. The only teams I can see are Coventry & maybe Doncaster, it's unlikely that Lincoln will do a Luton.

It will be a bigger struggle next season with an even smaller budget. Assuming the teams coming down don't sink to the bottom, we are almost relying on the teams coming up being not very good, which is unlikely.

One thing is certain, we will need some good loanees

Probably only three relegation places possible next season especially if Bolton get another pts deduction for not playing a game.

I don't understand Phil. Why only 3 and what difference will the points deduction make to Bolton, if they win enough games to cover it?

It has been said in the papers over here that Bolton can expect another 12pts deduction for not fulfilling there fixtures that would make it 24pts & 8 wins needed just to start. The other side of Bolton as players they have not been paid I beleive that means the contracts are null & void. When Pompey went down to league 2 in 2012/13 season they only had 10pts deducted & still finished bottom. Coventry managed to stay up in league 1 by 4pts in 2013/14 having another 10pt deduction. Having 12pts let alone 24pts deducted if Bolton manage to stay in league 1 next year their manager will deserve manager of the year. Which means to me Bolton will be odds on to go down again to league 2. With us & Accrington & probably AFCWimbledon as the other favourites to go down. With Bolton in the place they are in we might be in luck with a team more strapped for cash than us & pts which would leave three relegation to keep away from.

Failure to complete the league programme was I thought grounds for expulsion from the Football League. What if the game they didn't play had decided a relegation or promotion? The FA made sure Luton left the leagues when they hit problems back in the day so why is this different. This is a case of the FA great unwashed in suits bottling out of a decision.

I can't see any of the teams coming up doing a Luton and I would expect all four to finish no higher than mid table with some on similar budgets to our own
