People deal with things in different ways. Some bury emotions until they are alone, and grieve privately. Some prefer to keep busy to keep the sadness at bay. And some want the world to know and grieve with them. We are a complex species.
Baku is a stupid location but I agree with UEFA's concept to have the finals played in various locations all around Europe. It is a continental tournament after all. They do need to help supporters though - lower ticket prices, easier travel etc.
Qualifying rounds, not group stage. ----------- Indeed, that is what I meant. The group stage is the preferable, the qualifying is season prep carnage!
Football will have to come to terms with its carbon footprint at some point one way or another. It would be better if it sorted things out voluntarily rather than having travelling restrictions imposed on fans.
I don’t disagree with the concept, but think it would be better to nominate two locations, with the final decision being made in the latter stages of the tournament, based on the teams still in it. The fans should come first, even if it means Eastern European countries missing out, as a result of not reaching the finals. Won’t happen though because the fans never do come first. Totally agree with your last sentence.
I highly doubt that it’s even on the radar of the footballing world and tbh I don’t see that changing for a long time, and not until forced to make changes by higher powers.
They could quite easily eliminate a few countries based on behaviour and logistics. Russia shouldn't host any finals due to their racist attitude. Baku shouldn't be hosting a major final as they haven't got the infrastructure to cope with a large number of people entering the country at once.
A referee can only officiate the FA Cup final once. So that ruled out Oliver, Taylor, Dean, Marriner, Moss, and Atkinson.
