I don't know who i want to win the cup, not sure that I'm happy money buying the treble, so....Watford.
If City win they will have won the domestic treble ... not sure that has ever been done before? ... if Watford win it will be their first 'major' trophy (I think) ... so some sort of footballing first gonna happen ... Deeney up against Octapusmendi could also be an interesting side show
Hasn't money always bought trophies / success though? Liverpool and United were always able to buy the best players in their pomp ... even Forest won a European cup after paying £1 million for Trevor Francis (one of the first 6 figure transfers) ... and Real Madrid? ... unfirtunately it's the way of the world and somewhat hypocritical when armchair fans of the likes of Pool and United from the home counties and Wales start bleating about level playing fields and how unfair it is that new money has 'ruined the game' ...
Who's the armchair fan of Liverpool or United? I've always been lower league myself, and if i choose to be critical of the money in football then i will. I blame Jimmy Hill....i guess you know why.
Not aimed at you ... and I agree with your view overall but some fans seem to think that money talking only started with Chelsea and City ... our record transfer was something like £300k coming into this milllenium until Peter Clueless Taylor decided £5 million on Ade Akinbiyi was a sound investment ... United spent £30 million on Rio in the days when that would have got you a whole squad in the same league ... That's why it is all the more remarkable when someone builds a team like Brian Clough did initially at Forest, Bobby Robson did at Ipswich or Ron Saunders at Villa ... or Claudio Ranieri
Seriously you really don't want to know what i think of that kunt Peter Taylor!...but I'm going to tell you I wanted him out of my club and I never ever want to see him again. The most negative manager I've ever had the mis-pleasure. How anyone rates him is beyond me. We have had some truly awful managers at my club, but Taylor would rank as the biggest waaaanker of all time. As for Bobby Robson, forget 66, best manager we ever had EVER. And I always looked up to Cloughie.
So it was you (understandably - I found our reaction to the Silva debacle rather cringeworthy and am still a bit embarrassed by it) a Saints fan, a City fan two QPR fans (one of whom clearly has a load of mates who are Watford fans) and HIAG!
True dilemma for @Matth_2014 this... One club represented by the bee vs another represented by the wasp. This could end him!
Did we buy four Rio Ferdinands in three consecutive transfer windows? No, did we ****. What a ridiculous argument.
Also, don't you think you're a tad too old for facepalm emojis for **** sake? It doesn't make you right, it makes you look a twat.
Unless it’s in the arse end of Russia I’ll probably go to your Europa away game so that would add the slimmest of silver linings to the world’s blackest cloud.
For looking like a massive chinned Terry Thomas? Wouldn’t it be a laugh if Watford won 4-1? Wonder what price I’d get?
