The third kit actually looks the best. I liked the kit we had two seasons ago that harked back to the Keegan era but it was unfortunate that the football played didn't match ! I just think that football kits look better when they are simpler and less complicated. The colours should be traditional and I think it is good that this has been maintained. However , there is something a bit plastic about next season's kit. I am not sure whether it was on here but there was a debate on line last summer about how old you have to be before wearing a football kit becomes stupid. I haven't had a Saints kit for about 10 years although I have bought retrospective kits which I would tend to class as leisure wear.
No hard and fast rule, but I would only wear my kit to a game. Approaching 50 in a few months and doesn't feel silly yet. FWIW, I don't think I have ever worn a football shirt if I haven't been going to a game though.
They look fine to me. I don't care that much about kits one way or the other but I guess I'd say I like these more than the average Saints kit. The argument I have with my friends is whether you should only wear team logo stuff while in the area the team represents, or only when NOT in the area the team represents.
Really dislike the away shirt. The home shirt would be fine if the black wasn't there - but it is, so it's not. But the third shirt I'm liking.
The home kit will take more getting used to, but I like the other kits. And even the home kit isn't as poor as the one with the white hankies on the shoulder of a few seasons back.
The black around the shoulders and below the neck is just awful. Best kit was the one from 2011-2012. However the film launch is great!!! Is this unique or is this following a trend?
The problem with having so many different coloured sections is that the kits aren't made by tailors out of the finest fabrics...tends to be ruckling at every junction....so the fewer the better. I'm hoping that the final kit looks better than these knock ups....though not holding my breath. My overall verdict for the home kit is 'OK'.
A definitive ranking of our past ten kits, so don't bother arguing with it: please log in to view this image 2010-11: simple, clean, speaks to our history. 2017-18: really liked that one. 2012-13: I'm probably the only person who ranks the pinstripes above the traditional stripes. I know it was heresy and everything, but it's not like we haven't deviated from the one true stripey path before, and it's a nice shirt overall. Probably would have been better with black shorts and black/red socks, though. 2014-15, 2015-16, 2011-12: these are all perfectly fine and in no particular order. 2018-19: having the stripes terminate is really the only reason it isn't in the above group. Combined with the "no striped backs" thing and we had a striped kit that had, like, 6 square inches of stripes. 2016-17: prefer fewer stripes to large numbers of stripes, also no bra. 2019-20: yeah. 2013-14: dear god why.
