    Good Morning Everyone

Having already defeated Derby three times this season, and having a 2-0 aggregate with three minutes on the clock to half time; you'd think the fat lady would be warming up her vocal technique ready to see off a bunch of dejected, miserable and heart broken Rams disappearing down the M1S with their tails between their legs!

Up until yesterday no club had ever turned around a first leg deficit having lost at home in the first leg - but they weren't banking on Leeds Utd going into in to self destruct mode!

Where did it all go wrong?

Here are some suggestions. Lets hear your thoughts!

We saw how good Harry Wilson was last night, as he bought this seasons tally up to 16 goals for the season. Not bad for a winger!!!

Leeds had the chance to sign Wilson but refused to pay 3m for his services. Obviously Derby jumped at the chance!

Why on Earth did Bielsa not give Brown game time towards the end of the season?

It must have been clear that the team were out of gas, and running on fumes, yet Brown was not given an opportunity!

Not strengthening in January has turned out to be a big mistake imo. I'm not even going on about the Daniel James fiasco. They were plenty of seasoned professional in the top flight that were not getting a game. Surely their experience could have come in very handy?

Were the lads over training? Is that why they were falling like flies throughout the season?

I can envisage that you could probably get away with that sort of intensive training on the Continent where warm weather and better diets may give professional athletes more durability!

We've seen what loanees like Mount and Wilson can do (25 goals between them).

Were our loanees poor in comparison?

Should Bielsa have started with Jansson instead of Berardi last night?

    Morning all..

It’s just a game of football, I’m still going to have to go out to work today no matter what happened last night, there are thousands around the world grieving lost ones or suffering with illness, I’m telling myself these things trying to make it feel better but for some reason it isn’t working.

Hindsight is great but our failure this season is purely not putting the chances away. Everyone said Bielsa teams fade fitness wise for the second half of the season, we didn’t fade when it came to fitness.

Pablo played 41 matches this season, he started 39 of those games admitted he was poor the last 4-5 games but it was his passing that started to let him down. He lasted the entire season playing Bielsa football, yes he missed a handful through injury but I don’t remember him going a season without being injured at least once or twice.

Personally I’m totally dismissing any theory along the lines of tiredness due to the style Bielsa plays. The guy on Sky said last night Leeds were the fittest team he has seen play this season, he reiterated what has been said many times, Leeds players gather there breathe in turns during moments of high possession.

Not replacing Saiz and the missed chances by our attackers mainly Bamford is the reason we missed the autos.

Does the stubbornness of Bielsa worry me, yes but I’d have him over any coach in any division at this moment in time, he turned no hopers into serious contenders.

So it's true not just a bad dream.
In my not so humble opinion failure to strengthen in January was the main problem. Seem to recall Bates not allowing Grayson to strengthen in January with similar results.
We needed and still do a striker who knows how to make a goal out of nothing.
The lads have played some good football this season but lack finishing power.
I am not keen on the loanee side of the game would prefer home grown talent to take us to the PL if that is what we want.
Will be interesting to see who stays for next season, if we lose the likes of Clark and Shacks then my initial charge June 2017 that Rad's could be using LU as a shop window to make money will be proved correct.
Chins up everyone it's not the end of the world or so Mrs Pennth keeps telling me.:emoticon-0148-yes:

Good Morning to Matt and co from a sunny Bardsey
Not much to celebrate on my birthday so I have decided to celebrate that I am still here!
Went to the Magpie yesterday as I have 2 hours of tests at St James today what a way for a birthday'We went in the C70 with the top down it was a great experience for 2 oldies and Moe let it rip on the Malton bypass now that's how to celebrate
I am just gutted with the result we must make sure Beilsa stays
We need a winger a striker and a CB and please not freebies AR must sell the club to someone with real money. We have got some real talent coming through the ranks now so it should be with an amazing fan base be easy to attract the right investor

Unfortunately i agree, heard people say we are not ready for the PL,but is anyone it's a massive step up,if we were promoted we would have to have at least three or four quality signings, just to survive & build from their.
It's the chance i crave,Wolves have adapted well,Norwich & sheffield, Derby/Aston Villa, will probably come straight back down without investment, but you know what they might come back down, but they will be challenging and getting auto's again,in the next two or three seasons, before were so called ready,i don't know what the answer is with Leeds,i realy don't,all this we'll be better equipped for future doesn't wash with me at all atm,as all i here is the future and our promising U23's great, but next season i want to see seasoned professionals at the club & one or two marquee sighnings, with the base core of what we got (if we can hold on to them) Bielsa will do it,but not with a plan like this season,he will need to adapt game by game or i feel we will be a championship club for a very long time.
    From an utterly dejected

Morning all. Reasons for our failure are all well covered in the above posts. I felt we’d blown it weeks back anyway so was prepared for this. I feel sorry for everyone that has worked their socks off this season at the club. They ran out of steam. Also feel sorry for our great fan base this morning but especially our younger fans. Older ones like me are well used to this

I have had a full day to contemplate, I did a lot of physical stuff today and I feel a lot better. Still not happy that we didn't get promoted though.

Still absolutely gutted even after a good nights sleep.

My thoughts are we could have had Marriott for a few million who came back to haunt us. Myself and others on here all thought he would step up from league 1 and he has proved it this season.

But my biggest regret is not that we could have had Marriot or James etc... It was losing Bartley and not bringing him back. when I look at Cooper and Pontus and then think about Bartley, he is the leader and that calming influence that you need in the big games.

Morning all and i am the same expected this months back. Derby were too quick for us in the end. Total lack of any pace and the same old moves up and down the flanks made us easy meat.
Casilla was trying to cover because he knew we were slow. It went wrong of course but bpf is not the answer. So we need to ditch cooper hes a liability and too slow. A centre forward is needed and a fast winger. I think we need two fast midfielders too. But cant see skint rads spending any money.
So as i suspected we were not a promotion side.
Can bielsa adapt his tactics? No i dont think he can. He shows a repetitive tendency which i suspect is all pre planned. Hes a fitness coach and man manager but not a winner.
We recruited cheapo players and of course they failed. A team needs a spine and we dont have one.

It's only a bit of fun. So they had the last laugh! Good luck to them and they will probably beat Villa if they can replicate that second half form from last night.

It doesn't get any easier though Eire, used to it or not,as someone else said it's the hope that kills, and we had that in abundance this season,so the fall this season felt like a fall from an even higher precipass than usual, and it bloody hurts :(
