Chris Hughton sacked as Brighton manager. A nice guy who managed to just keep them up, but many fans were not impressed with the style of football they played. Not sure if he had a decent budget for signings, so cannot really say if they adopted the style to suit what he had available.
Apart from Murray they haven't really got a goalscorer but their defence is petty good so a decent base for a new manager to work from .
I dont know how much they spent in the last year and i can understand if they spent large amounts and only just stayed up .Some fans should be careful what they wish for (our including)
Although is that all down to him or the recruitment team behind the scenes? As with any management change the right or wrong decision will become clear when they appoint the new man and how he does. As I say Brighton's defence seems too solid - maybe because the style and set up meant they had to be but its better than nothing. Think they do have a few strikers who have hardly scored though... I mean we saw that in the game at the AMEX - Brighton missed 3/4 excellent chances to score.
Thats all true and there is a few teams in the league that need a good striker and a center back ( i can think of 1 ) it just shows how good our manager gets the best out of players like E.C. and Mapps
Bolton have entered administration, which means they start next season on -12 points. If that chancer Bassini had not become involved they could have taken the hit this season, making little difference as they were already relegated. The man really is a disaster zone that should be avoided at all costs.
Sad day for their fans and the staff. Just seen on Twitter Mike Dean celebrating Tranmere's win in the play-offs. Certainly wasn't slow and shy in his support/delight - and quite nice to see in a way as refs get accused of being dull and robotic. https://twitter.com/search?q="Mike Dean"&src=tren&lang=en-gb Probably typical of him I guess...
Bolton Wanderers Football Club has opened up an emergency food bank to help hard-hit members of staff. Employees of the club and Bolton Whites Hotel are being offered fresh food and essentials donated by local businesses and charities after going without pay for the last two weeks. More here: https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/new...-set-up-emergency-food-bank-for-unpaid-staff/ We think that players receive loads of money, but there are an army of support staff who are on little more than minimum wages. Bassini promised to pay them all, but more hot air.

Good spot Mex. It is becoming so money obsessed that in some ways it would be a good thing if the super rich left to go and play in a super league in Europe.
Will Hughes scored off a press we did once, the poor man's press more like! (Believe it was against Burnley) Get the top 6 out and we can have a competitive league without much quality mind!
I wonder if the standard would not be dissimilar to days of old when we had so few overseas players? You never know it may mean more English players get developed...?? Sent from my F8331 using Tapatalk
I know it seems a bit strange to put a cricket story on here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/48283052 It made me think about time wasting in football. Keep yellow cards for that separately from others. Two yellows for time wasting gets a match ban, after that each yellow for it gets an automatic match ban. If it's one of the two yellow cards in a match that makes a red, it won't count in the previous listings as there is already a ban. Also, there are no cut-off times as there are for other yellows. To use the FL as an example, a player could get one in the first game of the season and in the second leg of the play-offs and miss the play-off final.
Seems more sensible.. In a number of ways, cricket is very archaic still Sent from my F8331 using Tapatalk
