Potter's done well for himself. From somewhere in darkest Sweden to the Prem in a year. Very strange appointment.

FFS....I've heard that Tony Pulis is in the frame. If that's the case, next season the number of points BHA get will be as threadbare as Glenn Murray's barnet.

His record in Sweden was incredible and they did do very well in the Europa League given their tiny budget. His success in Sweden is often overlooked. Given the cost cutting at Swansea he had a pretty decent year too.

Looks like Hughton won't be out of work for long, it seems he's about to be offered the West Brom gig.

I wonder whether Nigel might get offered the Swansea job?

Swansea have in the past gone for flair managers. Not sure if NA fits the bill, but still its a decent shout.

Incredible what rewards you can get for a bang average season in the Championship.

Well he took them to the verge of the playoffs. Which was rightly seen as a good achievement by our manager.

They were pre season bookies favourites for the top 6. They finished 9 points adrift. We were looking at the relegation places up to 18th. Who exceeded expectations and who didn’t?

Bang average for the resources he had.

The first season we came down from the Premier League we finished 18th, 26 points off the Play Offs. Swansea finished 10th, 9 points off. Swansea spent around 6m on players less than what we did when we first came down. They sold 17 players, and replaced them with 6 players. He was playing with very similar resources to us when we came down from the Premier League. Their resources where minimal compared to some, and most of it was tied up in paying wages of paying some players out on loan. So actually looking at the facts he did a pretty good job. On top of that, his success in Sweden was unbelievable. Clearly Dan Ashworth rates him as do Brighton and I reckon they know far more about managers than most on here.

They flogged seven players for about £50m and released a load more, they only reinvested about 10% of that money.

They still had some decent players, but not a brilliant squad.

I think Potter 's a good appointment for Brighton.
