Worth a bump to see how close our predictions were with only 1 game to go.

Currently have 1st and 2nd correct, with 3rd/4th and 5th/6th swapped. Think I'm probably there or thereabouts, but missed by enough on a couple that I'm probably not going to win.

Ah Neddy, didn’t know that. Sorry to hear of this and I wish her and your family all the best. I too give regularly to that particular cause.

It can be such a battle. Hoping there is light at the end of the tunnel for her and that it is curable.

I'm pleased to say a fairly recent operation is looking very hopeful. She starts Radiotherapy next week......bless her.

If the winner doesn't drink, does the prize go to the 2nd place person?

Has someone been doing some working out <whistle>

Doubt I've won anyway, got at least two who are 5+ out.

    Some conclusions.

Most surprising result for you all was Fulham's finishing position. Average guess was 14th and they finished 19th. The least surprising was Manchester City, though Saintalona went out on a limb with a prediction of 5th, a bold call that didn't pay off.

His predictions of Saints to win the league and Liverpool to finish 16th may well have affected his chances of winning. I'm not utterly certain he was taking this in the deadly serious spirit in which everyone else regarded the competition.

Outside those comedy gold predictions, Fran had the biggest gap, having predicted Wolves to finish rock bottom.

The average score was 43 and the roll of dishonour for falling short of this line is:

    Saintrichie
    SaintinSerbia
    Fran
    Schad
    SaintStu
    No7
    Saintalona
    Tom
    Beddy
    DaveCG
    Beef
    Rorschach
    Saintsosa
    No1Jasper

So in future you may safely ignore anything any of these people ever say. They have no idea and must be disregarded.

Worst guess for Saints, bar the one by Saintalona, were by Chilcs and Tom (those two well-known optimists) who had us in ninth. Which would have been fine if Ralpha The Hütt had been with us at the start of the season. But he wasn't.

However, the roll of honour is (drum roll)...

In fourth place, with 32 points. Saintsmagic
In joint second, with 30 points, Qwerty and Saintscookie

And in first, with a truly impressive 28 points, including perfect guesses on six teams (including Saints) we have

    The Liebherr Legacy!

I'm particularly impressed as three teams, Fulham, Newcastle and Wolves made up 14 of those 28 points.

Fortunately for me, The Liebherr Legacy seems to have left the forum since the competition opened so there's no need for me to send out a bottle of gin.

Thanks to you all for entering the competition; most of all thanks for the money you've given to your charities.

I'll run it again this year but this time I'll offer periodic updates so you have an early opportunity to give up hope.

    Vin

    And as you can't find him, 14 divided by No7 is 2 and 2 times 14 = 28.

Some weird symmetry going on there so maybe the Gin should go to the member with only one no 7 in their name.

Or maybe they have drunk the Gin already.

Who are you and why are you celebrating? Someone called The Liebherr Legacy was the winner.
