Well I’ve got a feeling he is going to get one more so he needs to shake off the mistakes somehow and get back to the player he was. He is quick enough to deal with City but so error prone now.

I am afraid that the normally reliable Cathcart seemed to go on walkabout today. He received some stick from the commentators.

“In my opinion I can’t believe one player will miss the final for that contact; I can’t believe it,” Javi Gracia said. “Maybe it is a foul, soft foul, light foul but I can be angry with that decision. In this moment it is difficult to accept knowing you have an important game next week. It wasn’t a foul. That contact with one player like Antonio, [if] it is a foul there are lot of fouls during the game.”

"Feel really sorry for the Watford lad. It was hardly a serious foul play. To miss playing in an FA Cup Final must be heartbreaking."

"I really hope that red gets rescinded. Poor lad".

"Thought the sending off was harsh."

Three different Hammers fans view of the red card.

Nice comments (quite rare for opposition fans to be so about us) but is that said because they won!

What if it hadn't been given and we'd got something.

I didn't realise how soon the red card was after GD's goal.

Holebas's red card rescinded so he can play in final. Only the ref thought it was a red in first place!!!!! :headbang:

Some might've grumbled, but no one thought it was a red at the time, soft yellow at worst. I do think it was a foul though, but clearly the ball has gone away from the goal so the red didnt apply.
Our falling theatrics have certainly improved since Javier Hernandez signed.

Very pleased for him as almost no one thought he should have received a red card. However it does raise the question as to just what the ref has cost the club. Watford had come out a very different team to the one of the first half, had just scored, and looked as if another goal was not too far away. There is no telling of course what the final score might have been if we had played with 11 men throughout, but as we discussed earlier final positions could be worth quite a lot of money. One bad decision by an official could have cost a couple of million pounds.

Holebas red recinded as expected, one of the worst decisions by officials this season but still cost us 10th spot
We have the highest number of red cards in the Prem but also have the highest number of red cards recinded ,but the reds that were recinded cost us dear
Was it three of four rescinded this season alone
Surely not a conspiracy against little old Watford

I suspect that unless we play one of the "big" teams we get the second tier of refs. Still glad it wasn't Sian Massey-Ellis who gave it, as I have watched her, and think she is generally rather good. Could she take the main role before too long?

The first female referee in Germany was interviewed for Football Focus she looked fitter than the players so only a matter of times before it becomes normal
One good thing could be most male footballers would not abuse a female the way they would a male referee
Deeney was having a long chat with her about some West Ham tackles and he was a lot politer than he usually is

In French football we do have lady refs at Championship level. Looking at some of them I wouldn't start a row with them. <yikes>
