Yes, I can read. Do you not think it strange that as a new business, they haven't got a website (a basic, in this day and age), yet are agreeing multi million pound deals? Just feels strange to me.
I worry about new ventures like this, so much can go wrong. People have been baying for Mr Gao to do something, he has done something, but he will still be subject to doubt and criticism. I am wondering whether standing on principle and turning down lucrative sponsorships from Bookmakers will be regretted, they would have been a safer bet.
So a new unknown company that doesn’t even seem to be set up yet is our new shirt sponsor in a deal more lucrative than what we had with Virgin Media. Does seem more than a little weird.
I know it sounds dodgy, but if so, what is the issue - It is a sponsor, not an owner. If it is dodgy, all it means is we get another sponsor in if they don't deliver? Or am i missing the point?
Could this be anything to do with Gao finding a method of getting his personal wealth out of China and into the club?
If the government can give a ferry contract to a company that doesn’t have any ships, what on earth can go wrong with this?
Yep as Fran said we will/should get the money upfront. We aren't going to print 30,000 new kits with them on the front and other things without them paying us for it. In someways we want them to pay us, then go bust so we can get double bubble off another sponsor lol.
Seems a very strange one - probably deserves its own thread to publish details as they emerge. For those saying this is risky; if anything it would be good if this new company failed (providing they had paid up front). We would just be able to get a new sponsor and effectively get paid twice. Only risk is if this new company is funded by Gao/Lander or has some other dodgy connection. If that is the case the club may have breached FFP rules relating to owner investment.
I have just looked for Ld sports in China and there is a story already here about saints and ldsports. The website ecosports.cn is in chinese but they have a picture of st marys and the potential new shirt sponsor. Definitely originates from China so quite Possibly gao related.
Moaning is a human reaction - and a bloody important one. Moving these rocks is bloody hard work. Oh? Well you find a better way then! Alright I will! [cue invention of wheel]
