If a tree falls in the forest but there is no one around to hear it, does it make a sound? Records might show that, on the balance of evidence, it appears that a football match happened today. But somehow no one will ever quite remember. Maybe our memories are collectively deceiving us. Historians of the future will speculate. We'll probably never know for sure.
The last two games have illustrated that the squad doesn’t have the quality to cruise in matches. 4-2-2-2 doesn’t seem to fit this group either. A bit more pace up top needed from this window
Don’t worry Ides, Liverpool will win the champions league and you can enjoy their world renowned modesty in victory.
That was a pretty **** end to the season. But who cares ... liverpool didn't win the league and we stayed up
I am angry that Saints failed to get to 40 points!!! That is just not good enough. And supporters should be annoyed for this club failing to achieve the mínimum for the second successive season. PS: Haven´t you forgotten that I am a Tottenham lover according to many here, and as I have been adorned with such a title, I better live up to it? Vamos Spurs!!
Comfortable - too comfortable - at 1-0. Decided to gift them a goal, for a laugh. Wobbled a bit then, before huffing and puffing in search of the winner which, inevitably, didn’t come.
I rarely get into this sort of thing but as the team felt they had nothing to play for I felt I had nothing to stay for ... so left before the lap of shame Well done Redders not much competition for MOTM today
I like being a saints fan. It means I can watch and read Saints fans views. It’s great. The sun is shining and I’m chilling in the garden. I spent the afternoon I the local working men’s club. They had two big screens with one showing Liverpool and one showing city. I chose to sit in amongst the reds.. it was excellent entertainment. When they scored, they cheered. When Brighton scored, they roared. When City scored their third and the rest of the pub roared deliriously. The reds started bemoaning thatbeveryone else wanted City to win. One Liverpool fan jumped up and said, “Why does everyone want city to win, I don’t understand it.” “It’s because we don’t like you.” I replied. He sat down and then left when City scored their fourth. Lovely afternoon
Yep, sorry to say, I for the first time ever; I think but maybe we’ve had worse (?) and I left before the lap. Certainly can’t remember doing that for many a moon anyway.
Wish I’d been there rather than suffering this poor showing. City winning was my only saviour. LFC winning PL today & Saints poor display would have been a bridge too far. Thank you Pep.
I stayed for the lap of appreciation. The general good humour of the crowd, despite a disappointing result, was quite uplifting. A pleasant contrast to two years ago anyway, when Claude Puel got booed for finishing 8th and getting us to Wembley
FMe! Just realised I’ve got to go & fork out for a ST this week .... well 2x actually, as I have to finance my son for the other one! Jeez, Saints do test don’t they?!
To my shame I also left before the 'lap'. Just didn't feel right to me. Really s**t game. The first half hour was odd, playing like we'd been instucted not to shoot outside the 6yrd box. I was almost expecting them to score after the ill advised "thats why you're going down" chant. Didn't think we do a joke goal though. Highlight was Franny, what a guy. Well that last burger wont eat itself.
Can someone explain why there are not numerous pages of criticism aimed at Jack Stephens or the dodgy keeper i.e. Fraser for the abject performance. Blue writing! Does Gunn get a free pass?
A rather underwhelming finish to the season after two great performances against Wolves and Liverpool - no win in the last five is a shame but at least it highlights our weaknesses and that with the current squad we cannot play a back four. Hopefully with some shrewd summer signings we can start the season afresh with more optimism.
