Beautiful free kick from Eriksen to score. Good play by Dier in the wall to create the gap. I really wanted 3rd so I'm disappointed. Can't believe Spurs have fallen so far down to Arsenal's and Chelsea's levels!
Who's fault is that? Thin squad Do you think any fringe players actually think they have a chance? A Lamela hattrick wouldn't even get him a starting berth in the final Im not going to be hung up about 3rd or 4th Onto Madrid
Bollocks He's been tinkering square pegs into round holes all season...you can't expect bit part players with no chance to fight for a spot to turn up and play like they are regulars
Fans can always point to moments or games where they feel it was the turning point in the season/the decisive factor in the overall outcome, but for me, the home loss to Palace and draw at home to Brighton were absolutely criminal. Both sides had nothing to play for and our home form was near-perfect heading into those games. Inexcusable to not win those. Then again, there's an argument to be made also that if more was at stake, we wouldn't have won as convincingly as we did at Burnley today. Seeing as we don't seem to handle pressure well...
I saw a less than bit part player put in a cross for Winks to score a winning header. So I ask myself : Could that player have got the team some more pts with more game time ?? < pragma over dogma >
Walking home now. 2-2 but a “meh” game. Typical end of season performance. Well done @BobbyD, do your worst. You ****
Very painful to watch today. Apart from his goal,Ericson's passing was mostly awful. A difference in desire. If you're top of the league,a manager can safely drop a player and he will work hard to get back.If you're mid table and you drop a player,he may want to leave. Success is everything.Watch Man U buy the rest of UEFA!!!!!!….and a manager!
I wouldn't expect you to agree with me....There is no truth, only perception but if you miss a last minute penalty in a tied NLD, that perception is damning. Don't worry, I'm just warming up, as I'm seeing my Gooner cousin tomorrow in Valencia! Our form was in free fall going into that game - much like your players during it. Had you won that game and we hadn't got into our new home for the next home match, well I can't help fell that we'd have finished fifth and have been out of the CL in the quarters......
No rest in the summer for the Bel/Inger-Spurs. No signings. What felt like a far worse than usual injury saga (Dembele excluded) . And yet only 6 pts worse off in the end, and into a CL final. So the question to Levy is obviously : Think how much better than the above next season can be if you act quickly/correctly to acquire the players the manager wants/needs to improve his squad ??
The optimist in me says... "If you offered me fourth spot and a place in the Champions League final last August, knowing we hadn't signed anyone, I would have snapped your hand off!" The realist in me says... "What kind of season could we have had if we had just taken the chance on bringing in 2 or 3 good quality signings? I won't bang on about the same names over and over (as we all know who they are), but our squad was found wanting since early 2019. We're bloody lucky to be where we are."
IMHO he already knows how close to repeating 2012 we came, and like Wenger you can only ride your luck for so long before the fatal moment comes big-time.
