Sorry to bore you about going back to the International games but I just wanted to let those who hadn't seen them, read a little of what I noticed.
First of all Weiss who was on loan to them last season had a magnificent game against Ireland on Friday night. A year ago he was anonymous, but having spent a year with Rangers he is now real class. I wonder was it the confidence he got playing most weeks against defences that were not really trying made the difference.

Ireland now have 7 consecutive clean sheets. Darren O'Dea has played in three or four of them and has been a star in every game. I cannot believe that we have four better centre defenders than him.

It must be something he does or has done off the field that has him away on loan.

Lennon doesn't like him because he's a homosexual?

Just because you fancy Darren, it doesn't make him a homosexual.

Idleweiss was no better than ok. He then played in a side that lost 4-0 at home to Armenia.

Darren O'Dea played against Russia and did pretty well alongside Richard Dunne who was just ridiculously good against Russia. It is amongst the best individual performances I have ever seen. If he hadn't been about, we'd have lost by 5 or 6.

    Rebelbhoy.
Weiss was good against us, some difference from a year ago.
Not only Tuesday was Darren good but in all the Int. he has played this season.
He is big and strong and formed a good partnership with Dunne and St. Ledger on
    another occasion .
Dunne certainly was immense on Tuesday. Def. massive.

i just didn't think idleweiss was particularly good. There was always more of a fear of him in my mind but that is only because he is an ex hun.

O'Dea has been very good for Ireland, but that said, Celtic play a different game from Ireland. Darren shines when he's got **** to do all the time.

O'Dea had a great game against Milan all those years ago & got dropped soon as Caldwell was fit, I've seen him play a few games for Ireland where they were under the cosh &he's been good too.

I've seen him play for Ipswich & have a ****ing nightmare despite having **** all to do. In one game I saw 3 times he failed to deal with a tiny bit of pressure from a striker & the other team scored from 2 of them.

He seems to lack the ability to stay switched on which is the big difference between your average players & the good players.

    fair assessment.

A real shame that he isn't going to make it at CP.

    He smashes huns.

I think he was a great talent who was never allowed to try & develop here. Sent out on loan far too late in the day.

3/4years ago he should have been out in the Championship getting games then coming back with confidence.Instead he got dropped everytime Mick or Caldwell returned from suspension/injury & that must kill your confidence.
