I’d be very, very tempted to start Kane if he was 100% fit. I’d feel a bit bad if it was at the expense of Moura for example, though. Plus he’d be quite the player to bring on at 60 mins or so. A lot might depend on the availability of other players of course, if we end up deciding it’s better to play Dele and/or Eriksen a bit deeper then it could work to start Kane, if we decide to play Dier, Wanyama or even Winks (if fit) alongside Sissoko then Kane might start on the bench. Either way I’m sure we’ll see him at some point if he’s fit!
If all are fit, and Kane's fitness is good enough to play 120 minutes if required, then the team I'd play would be: Hugo Trippier, Toby, Jan, Rose Sissoko, Eriksen Lucas, Dele, Son Kane If Kane isn't fit enough to play 120 minutes, I'm not sure if I'd start Llorente (or use him as a super sub) or start Wanyama or Dier in midfield and play Son up top.
I suspect Poch may be a bit more minded to be more defensive. For example, Sanchez, Toby, Jan Trippier, Sissoko, Rose Dele, Eriksen, Son Kane I'm not necessarily saying this is the best option but I suspect he will be more concerned with conceding goals against Liverpool. This is pretty much what he did at Anfied a few months ago, but he had Son on the bench with Moura playing.
in place of who? Kane should be on the bench...that gives us a strong bench. im sorry for everyone who may be a bit biased but Kane has not earned a start in the Final.
criminal to suggest Moura should be benched...hes earned the right to play in the Champions League final...the good man has given the rest of his team mates the opportunity also with his stunning hattrick Benching him is destroying him As much as i love Kane...i support Spurs
No need to apologise. Poch should start with his strongest/best players. Kane is better than Moura, despite Moura's hat-trick. Kane is better than Son too. If Kane is 100%, start with him is my opinion. But my opinion is also that Kane should be substituted if he's not playing well.
Shoe horning all our attacking options? what have we got off the bench? That deep lying midfielder role belongs to two players who are going to do a fine job of shielding our defence...Eriksen doesnt pop into my thoughts when i think that.
Lamela and Llorente on the bench. Going too defensive against Pool isn't a good idea in my eyes, they easily break through defences. Best bet is to try and control the game and go at that them. Eriksen's work rate is massively underrated too, he might not make Dier-esque lunges but he chases back and hurries opponents. Couple times in the Ajax game he was back in our box trying to help out.
He should be coming off the bench...last time he came back into the team...everything got disrupted...a one off final wont allow that luxury. And i disagree an attacker who scores a hattrick and still misses out...be careful of the seeds that may sow. Why is Kane unable to come off the bench and show everyone what he can do?
I agree that Lucas has without question earned his start in the final, so the choice for me appears to between Harry and Sonny, after the Quarter Final 2nd leg that would have been a no brainer with Harry starting from the bench. But the way Sonny has played in the last 3 matches it will be a tricky decision, but if Harry is fit to go the distance then I think he will get the nod. With Son as our game changer from the bench.
Likewise with Robertson and Trent, they'll need to be careful of Son and Lucas. They're great attacking FBs but not the most solid defensively. Here's hoping Tripps can find last season's form for the final.
I reckon at best Kane will be good for 30-60 mins max on Jun 1st. If so, the coaching staff have to be brutal and ignore any "I'm good for 90 mins boss, honest" chatter from Kane (because he will try it) . My only real question is whether Aurier will be fit for the final, as he is IMHO far more likely than Trippier to thwart Mane and the Poool FB regardless of his Bonzo-esque potential.
I haven't suggested Moura should be dropped. There's always Son. There is absolutely no reason why Kane cannot start on the bench. I'm simply giving my opinion that maybe Spurs should start with him. Start with the better players. Then sub him if necessary. Liverpool will have the same issue with having to drop a few players from their win against Barcelona to accommodate the return of Salah and co.
I am sorry Barney, but we started with the 3 CBs at Anfield and that allowed their full backs too much room and we were much better when we reverted to a 4 at the back, and that has often been the case recently
You maybe right, but if wasn't for the final, I would guarantee that he will playing the full 90 for England on the Wednesday afterwards!
Barney's the dog, not me! Oh, I don't recall Spurs reverting to the back 4. However, that wasn't my opinion. I was simply stating that I suspect that would be the approach that Poch will take. I agree that it is too defensive and does not suit Spurs.
