Scotty Parker has been appointed full time Head Coach - no details given as to term etc.

Wonder if that increases the chance of others than Cairney staying ? The really good news is that Stuart Gray is definitely teaming up with Parker.

I see the appointment as a gamble. I don't think I would have brought him in in the first place.
    But he brings some positives,
the majority of the Championship players have backed him, it's only the newbies who haven't said much to wanting Parker as manager (not that they say much usually), but are the likes of Angussia & Seri willing to drop down and stick with us.
You would hope that he'll be able to assess the youth players a lot better, unlike Slavisa who seemed oblivious to what we had coming through and let a lot leave without assessing them.
I expect him to be a tracksuit coach, unlike Ranieri who seemed a match day impact manager, with inspirational?? speeches !!! media friendly phrases.
I'd hope he'll have some clout with being a 'manager' a few players will want to join us for, with his numerous clubs he might have contacts and know agents that will get players.

    On the down side
He is inexperienced, does he really have the tactics to turn us around, and the honeymoon period may quickly turn sour if results fail in the first few months. I'm wondering if a 'Father' figure will brought in to over see things leaving him to be the Coach. I'm no fan of our present transfer structure.
Is he a coach who is OK with being giving Players who might not be his choice (Kit Symons) or will he eventually get frustrated with the quality (Jokanovic) being signed.
Will he be given time or is he going to use us as a stepping stone to a bigger club (but at least that would mean he'd have done well for us).

Like many of you, I have mixed feelings. However he seems to have pulled the team together and they have had some spirit about them. Most importantly the decision has been made now, not just before the season starts. A good win on Sunday will help.

Like others, I have mixed feelings. I'm always wary of inexperienced managers but now that he's got the job we need to get behind him and give him time. However he does, I think we have to give him the two years of his contract and let him learn his craft - if we weren't willing to do that, we should have given the job to someone more experienced. When we hit a rough spell (which we will at some point), we need to be patient and resist the temptation to jump on the Parker out bandwagon.
