We welcome West Ham to the "Vic" for our final league game of the 2018/9 season.
The club was founded in 1895 and it has to be noted that the club’s name was Thames Ironworks back then. The Hammers were playing their home games at Upton Park from 1904 until 2016, when they moved to the Stadium at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
West Ham have won three FA Cup trophies (1964, 1975 and 1980) and they were runners-up in 1923 and 2006. The London club finished the 1985/1986 England first division campaign in third place in the standings and that is the club’s highest placing in the top flight.

The Hornets suffered back-to-back losses to the likes of Wolverhampton and Chelsea in their previous two league fixtures, but they are only one point away from finishing the season in the top ten. Watford have been producing fine displays in the 2018/2019 season and they are likely to stick to their attacking style of play against West Ham.

The Hammers, on the other hand, did well to beat the likes of Tottenham and Southampton in their previous two league games, meaning that they are brimming with confidence ahead of the trip to Watford.

Etienne Capoue will be available for selection for Watford's final Premier League game of the season against West Ham United.

The midfielder, who was named the club's player of the season at their end of season awards on Thursday evening, missed the previous game against Chelsea with a groin injury, but has been declared fit again for this weekend's match.
The Hornets are in good shape just one week ahead of their FA Cup final, with only Domingos Quina and Sebastian Prodl ruled out through injury.

"Capoue has recovered from last week and will be available for the next game," said Gracia.

"We have Domingos Quina and Sebastian Prodl injured and the rest of the players are available."

With the club's biggest game since 1984 looming on the horizon, there are those who expect Gracia to rest his best players for the game against the Hammers on Sunday.

However, the head coach thinks it is not always the best idea to rest players and thinks there is enough time to prepare for the final after the West Ham game.

He said: "You never know what’s better. Sometimes you think it’s better to rest some players, then after its not the best decision.

"I prefer to take decisions thinking only about the next games. We want to finish with more points and in this moment it’s what we are looking forward to, the next game against West Ham.

The lowest Watford can finish in the table on Sunday would be 11th, meaning the minimum amount of prize money they can recoup from the league this season is £19,312,680.

However, should results fall in their favour, an eighth place finish is still possible, which would earn the Golden Boys a total of £25,106,484.

I can see us resting players or maybe not being at our best so might have to suffer a draw or even defeat - which would put us down to 11th so a bit of a damper I guess!

    Hopefully be proved wrong.

    West Ham Team News:

Jack Wilshere is in line for his first start since September when West Ham travel to Watford.

The former England midfielder has endured another injury-hit season but is finally fit after two separate ankle problems.

Wilshere came on as a substitute against Southampton last weekend and set up West Ham's third goal in their 3-0 win.

The 27-year-old moved to east London from Arsenal last summer but has started just four matches, all of which were defeats.

"Jack is ready to start and he will be involved in the squad list. When he came on in the last game he did very well," said Pellegrini.

Samir Nasri is also fit after a calf problem but his chances of landing a new contract are slim after injuries hindered him during his initial six-month spell.

Striker Andy Carroll, out with an ankle injury, is another player poised to leave when his contract runs out

that's what I'm hoping for, to end the season with a win, 52points and a top ten finish.
I think we used Carroll as spare parts for Wilshere.

I’m not grumbling at all, considering all that’s happened. But I think we will beat Wet Spam and rue the result against Wolves which would have seen us 7th.
That said, what a pleasure it will be to beat Citeh and frustrate Wolves Everton Leicester our of Europe!

This game is worth 3.9million squid!! That, on a Pozzo budget, could mean a new defender!!

    9th place gets £23.1m
    10th place gets £21.1m
    11th place gets £19.2m

(Leicester play Chelsea at home Sunday, so we could get as high as 9th with a win & the Foxes don't)

I really hope we don't lose and finish in the bottom half, it would be a shame after the very decent season we have had. However, results have dropped off recently.

On another note, If JG is going to play Gomes in the final, and I am sure he will, he should also start him Sunday to help him with match sharpness.

Hopefully the players don't have one eye on the cup, I bet they do mind!

We just need to play the way we did in the first half against chavski... but score! Family honour at stake tomorrow... 90% of my cousins are West Ham fans.

I also have a ten pound charity bet with a Leicester fan on here that we would finish higher than them. Given it was struck before the season begun we have both had a hell of a run for our money!
