I read that on google news its an article from the Mag Chronicle, two faced as **** and just want to wind people up,and get the mag scum to laugh at us, more fool them
Just read another article that the the EFL has had its highest attendance ever thanks to the Sunderland supporters and has broken all records. its a 60 year high and is on the Sunderland echo site
I"d go with RTBs team but with Baldwin and Matthews in at C/H and R/B, if fit they are better in those positions than Ozturk and O9.
Matthews better than O’Nien? I must have watched a different pair of players to you. Baldwin been poor in his last few games too. I think Ozturk has settled at the end of the season! Maybe a little late but hey ho!! Matthews literally looked like he couldn’t be arsed against Southend. Looked like a player with nothing to play for which is sad as I quite like him Would you drop O9 completely? We looked a far better team with him last Saturday imo.
But we are 1-2-2 since he's been taken out of the side. I'm curious now to know who started at CB in those other 3 losses. No one has ever mentioned Baldwin's offensive contribution. Some have indicated that his tendency to bypass the center midfield as he plays the ball out from the back is a bad thing, but I disagree, safc often enjoy long periods of play when we are well on the front foot, but we are lacking quality in that final ball, I think Baldwin, two or three times a game, delivers a long pass from the back, that sets up that elusive quality in the final ball.
Lee Barry Cattermole: “I think it would be harsh to say we’ve underachieved. “With the change in the club, from the end of last season to where we are now, I think we’ve come a long way. "It’s a new competition, so we need to freshen things up again and go again."
I'd have Baldwin back in a heart beat. I posed the question at the start of this thread that our bad run seems to have coincided with Ozturk getting into the side. Crosses into the box are not being dealt with, Southend goals were both from crosses, as we're Fleetwoods and Portsmouths. They can't all be down to him but we've suffered after the Coventry game where Baldwin and Flanagan were vilified for their five goals. I'd play Baldwin and Flanagan tomorrow as generally speaking they have been our better pairing.
Against Cov3entry at least 2 of their goals came from the "long pass from the back" where he passed it to their player and they passed it around us!! Agree mind about the 1-2-2 comment. Not sure if it's down to him or what. Our defence isn't great (that said, there are only 3 or 4 better in the league and those below us think they've defended well this season!) Time will tell I suppose
#CAFC are taking 3,800 to Donny (sell out) and are fast selling out the home leg. If we get to Wembley we will suddenly have 50,000 loyal Addicks requiring tickets so if you/or Pompey could restrict your requirement to below 20,000 that would be great
Surprised to see Sunderland have only sold 21,000 for their home game v Portsmouth tomorrow. Could it be that they are thinking what we are thinking
Had a read of the Sunderland fans forum after your defeat at Southend last week. Since 1998 I’ve always had a lot of time for the Mackems, who took Wembley defeat that day like gents. BUT your younger fans seem to have a sense of entitlement? Nobody outside Sunderland expected you to win League One with 101 points this season....like we managed in 2014 I’m hoping for a Charlton v Sunderland final again...but reckon it will be Pompey.
so you take turns going to home matches? Given your average turn out (11,000), that means you only see one in 5 games. Not too loyal is it? I think you mean 40,000 occasional fans who can be bothered with the arduous journey across London
Like you had, like Blackpool had … we still have an extremely unpopular owner and we have 40,000 fans boycotting home games
Without being sarcastic, there’s a lot more in the way of leisure alternatives in London than there is in Sunderland. You may be a bit out of touch being overseas, but our fans have been boycotting our home games since 2014 because unfortunately we have a deluded, malign absentee foreign arsehole of an owner. You were fortunate to get rid of yours...we haven’t managed it ....yet.
although we do have a strange half man half Swede supporter who is boycotting all the way up to Wembley (if we get there!) @baraettmattesvensson
