Klopp says it’s right - this group of lads are mentality monsters. The pain from last years finAl was still good experience for us - plus we’ve added more steel and composure in the form of Alison and Fabinho. Spurs won’t be used to the big occasion and hopefully it gets to them. We are the better team. Spurs can hurt us but I’m confident.
Strangely enough I think that playing a competitive game before the Final will help us retain that edge over Spurs. I am really confident this time compared to last year. Spurs cannot compete against their history. Imo player for player in all areas of the pitch we have the advantage.
2007 experience talking mate. you can go off the boil very easily. the biggest danger for them.imo is Kane. he could be fine but equally he could be really rusty and stink them up whereas sticking more or less with how they ended up with son and moura and alli makes more sense. the other big danger is cup staring before hand and bottling it. I don't care what anyone says walking past that cup will have players losing focus. we were not too bad last year but in 2005 it probably did affect players.
So the CL final will be a premier league game, lots of energy and heavy tackles. A European ref will be flashing yellows and reds left right and centre. The final will probably be a poor game in comparison to the two semi finals. As long as we win I am not bothered if it is like watching a kettle boil.
closest to it was real v atletico in cl and sevilla making europa final. cant remember year but wasn't that long ago.
barca rested most of their key players against us as already won league. didn't work out. i'm sat on the fence on this lol, i get the argument for resting players as if you get injuries its like ffs, but then again match sharpness is also vital.
Amazing in an era of Brexit we could have both finals of the two top European competitions being played by English teams.
I am stunned that you are confident lmao I would say we are in a lose lose scenario to the rest of the world Spurs are in a win win Luckily i only care about us but this will be a tough tough game and could go either way. We are favourites in the eyes of everyone - i hope we perform that way. Unfortunately th CL is due a surprise winner
The madness has to end sometime and normality and order reestablished. We've had all the surprises of several seasons crammed into one. That's it. We surely cannot have more .
One of Klopp or Poch will break the duck, you got to say at one point or another both teams look destined to win this comp.. Spurs now scraping through the group stages, against City and of course last night. Us getting that 1-0 against Napoli with Alisson coming up with that save and obviously the other night. Of course i would of rather played Ajax but I'm just happy to be there and it's got a bit of extra spice with it being Spurs, will definitely hurt more to lose. We should have the edge, with having last year's experience and obviously the stronger team, but it's football and Spurs won't go in to the game scared, they'll fancy their chances. Just got to hope that Klopp mentality shines through again. A three week break I don't think is a blessing, with the form we are in I'd much rather it be the next Saturday to keep momentum. But it is what it is, I think the team will be more motivated than ever (not that you need any extra) and hoping our quality comes through. But we shall see.
If Jurgen Klopp’s team win, the celebratory parade in the city will take place on Monday, May 13 for the Premier League and Sunday, June 2 for the Champions League. Both parades would start at 4pm. my birthday is 13th, hope its one to remember
Mayor of Liverpool, Joe Anderson, said: "Whichever team you support, there is no doubting the positive impact sporting success for each of our clubs has on the city, not just economically but also in terms of a feel-good factor. "It rightly generates huge pride and attracts massive international attention. "If the Reds win one or two trophies, they will receive a well-deserved heroes’ welcome and we will put on a show to make the city proud." nice words from joe, must have hurt
